Father of Marine killed blames Bush
nbc news ^ | 03-22-03

The father of a Marine Staff Seargent killed in the war was shown on the news carrying a snapshot of his late son, blaming President Bush for killing his only son.

Call me insensitive, but NO ONE forced his son to enlist, or in this case re-enlist more than once to serve his country. The son is a hero, as far as I'm concerned. The father, though I grieve with him, is a boob!

I dare you to flame me.

A member of the moorish science temple, a quasi islamic organization similar in many respects to the nation of islam. It is fairly well known for its militancy, and neo marxist views. the father i'm sure hated GW Bush and conservatives looong before his son was killed.

FWIW

That's MOST of the media, and yes, it's sad.

Cool handle, dude.

Let the man grieve.

If anything, it is a reflection of the constant hate against Republican/Conservative/White that is served up to Black Americans by Black and White socialist in America. Many Black Americans do not have access to, or do not know where to go for the truth. And, even if they were to see the truth, they would most probably reject it, because of the 24-7 barrage of hate that is presented to them as "truth". If you are going to blame anyone for this, blame the socialist leaders who are spreading the hate.

Again, let the man grieve.

He took it back the next day. Blamed it on emotions. This isn't a flame, just helping you with facts.

This happened on FRIDAY. There were several threads about it.

The father then apologized on Saturday.

Why are you starting a thread about this 3 days after the fact and after an apology?

The father apologized the next day. The grief was certainly unbearble and he has our prayers for the loss of his son. I hope he will honor the memory of his son and know that he was a hero.

Leave the father alone. He just lost his son. Give him a few months or years. He'll never get over the loss but he'll get a perspective. His grief is unimaginable. Of course his son is a hero but any father would have rather taken the bullet than have his own son die.

Walk a mile...

I had limited time since Friday to FR. Each time I looked at current threads, I saw nothing on it. I still see no documented link directing me to his apology, just flame throwers, people that kindly rebuke me and others still as upset as I.

That's OK, I can take it.

Could you be kind enough to give me a link?

You read my post and then commented. Had you scrolled the commentaries, you would have seen that I am open to this feedback and eager to learn.

I do believe that when my son enlists, which he has been talking about since he was 10(he's now 15) that I will be prepared to respond to my son being a fallen hero much better.
I'll give the guy his time, and hopefully someone will give me a link to his apology.

I'm off to the oscars now.

He knew the risks!! I don't care how you cut it!! I bet you anything the father is a demoRAT!! I don't remember the liberal media WHORES giving the father of the military man who died on the BLACK HAWK mission any air time to voice his hatred towards the RAPIST!! He was bitter accusing BUBBA of not sending in the necessary back-up to pull their son and the rest of the group out of there! NOPE NOT A PEEP FROM THE LIBERAL MEDIA WHORES...GOD HOW I HATE THEM!!

About sums it up. It is almost surreal how clinton got away with his crimes against this country while the media filed their fingernails. But let anything Bush does go wrong and they're all over him. They will answer for this eventually.

Was this guy verified to be the soldier's father? In this environment of anti-war, lying, sodom lovers, I don't trust people who talk like the enemy.

I also saw a clip of the same man later that expressed support for our effort and our president.

I'm glad to hear that. Do we have a post of that news item anywhere? Or should I assume that the major news outlets don't consider that "newsworthy"...

It's too bad this father cheapens his son't heroism for his own personal political agenda. Those of us who have also lost loved ones in combat know what it feels like, but we didn't play into the enemies' hands by criticizing the President.

I read that article too. I couldn't believe it. It also mentioned that they were "naturalized" Muslims. Huh?

I saw this grieving father on TV the next day and he seemed to change his attitude from his first appearance.I think he was in so much pain no one should put this poor father down at a time like this. After all his son died trying to save others from the enemies.People say and do things when their suffering and I can just imagine how much pain he was feeling at hearing of his only sons death.God Bless All The Brave Soldiers and God Bless America.

I heard about the fathers comments but I also heard the comments from the parents of another soldier who was killed. He said that he wished that the anti protestors would stop it and support the troops and the president.

The article here:

The father of a U.S. Marine killed in Kuwait is expressing anger at President George W. Bush.

Staff Sgt. Kendall Damon Waters-Bey died along with three other Americans and eight British Marines in a helicopter crash in Kuwait.

Waters-Bey's father, Michael, said he opposes the war.

When asked what he would say to Bush he said, "This was not your son or daughter. That chair he sat in at Thanksgiving will be empty forever."

Waters-Bey was the only son among five children in his family; he was married to a woman who serves in the Navy, and had a 10-year-old child from a previous marriage.

I saw this guy, disgrace to his sons memory. In respect to his son he is a hero and his loss is tragic; may we liberate Iraq and spread democracy through out the Middle East.
