Bush should have stuck to the origional, and foolproof, plan to shock and awe them into surrender and this would have been over in 48 hours - just like the first time. But no, he played politics with the whole thing wanting to come away as the great humanitarian who took Iraq without firing a shot or losing a life on either side and now it has cost us big time.

Bush should have stuck to the origional, and foolproof, plan I thought the Generals were running the war. What original foolproof plan are you refering to? Let's not start getting wobbly we've got a war to win!

Yes, but now maybe it's back to war - the hard way.

You're so brilliant. Thanks for the penetrating military analysis. I would suggest that you have zero knowledge of what operations were planned or when. Further, this occurred after 2 or 3 days of your beloved "shock and awe." I'm glad you figured out George Bush is to blame. Get back to me when your crystal ball is ready to tell us something else - in advance.

And you need to get a grip, face the realities of war, or return to the comics books you have evidently been educated on.

At a time when Americans are shedding blood to protect the "activists" right to free speech and your right to stupidity, you should just be silent.

See thread on FR regarding Fox reporting the ambulance summoned for Hussein never left the compound - there was no need to hurry. As well, senior Iraqi military were killed in that attack - Chemical Ali and others. THey aren't available to direct attacks against our troops, which has undoubtedly saved lives. Personally, I think we need more planes and BIG BOMBS to "soften" (read kill) the enemy before our ground troops approach.

If I weren't so polite I'd tell you to drop dead.
There is no such thing as a "foolproof" plan. We do not live in some pipedream utopia. War is a dirty business. People will get hurt and some will die. We need resolve... not arrogant f*ckwits harping on about what they "think" they know. Take a clue; insert between ears. Otherwise, zip that weeping orifice of yours.

Bush should have stuck to the origional, and foolproof, plan to shock and awe them into surrender and this would have been over in 48 hoursJust go the hell away. Join the whiners on CBS radio who are saying the war is lost. This is a WAR. A real, live WAR. The grown-ups have been saying people will DIE. Good people. Honourable people. Many more people I am sure.
This murder will be avenged. There is no end to the loathing I feel for the slime that would do this. I feel almost as much revulsion for someone who starts pointing fingers at our President after 72 hours of battle. Just. Go. Away.

LISTEN UP PEOPLE! DO NOT go all wobbly over the loss of some American troops! Mourn them or celebrate their heroism, but do not start second guessing a finely executed war while it is ongoing. Maintain your faith in our military might and the ability of our military leaders to accomplish this mission. When you can't stomach the loss of these American heroes, you are affilicted with the same disease that the peace protestors have! Make no mistake... they will use reports like this to fuel their argument. They will rely on the horror of Americans to justify their position. To be a soldier, you must be able to handle the loss of your compatriots without flying off the handle.
Steel your will... tighten your jaw... this is WAR. Never lose sight of your stated objectives. One of the stated objectives of this campaign is to minimize the damage to Iraq and minimize civilian casualties. The American military will accomplish this objective. No war plan is perfect. It is ridiculous to assume we will have no losses.

Your dreaming. Foolproof? There is no way to know what would have happened. Saddam probably would have fired on the troops with WMD and sent some to Israel too.
