If one was Tariq, then the tapes showed since the bombing are fake since he was in both of them. To me, that means Saddam is gone too.

What does the average Japanese person think about what is going on?
To: kolja2003
I hope you're right. Otherwise, it could greatly damage U.S./Russian relations, which are not very warm right now.

I KNEW those bastards would say that! These are the same 9-11 apologists who said we deserved to be attacked.

This action proves, to me, that Hussein is dead or incapacitated. He would never do something so visceral that would turn world opinion completely against Iraq.Like gassing entire villages of women and children? Like invading to neighboring nations? Yup, you're right... not like Saddam at all!
This could be a turning point in this whole mess. The world turns against Iraq,
Perhaps you haven't noticed, but there isn't a thing that Saddam could do to ever turn the opinions of radical Muslim nations against him, short of endorsing Salaman Rushdie and insulting all of Islam. Add in his sponsors in France, Germany, and Russia who don't seem to be too upset by his wide-spread raping, torturing, eye-gouging, tongue-removing, murdering, or gassing hobbies, and maybe you'll start to see that "world opinion" won't be swayed by some silly Geneva Convention rules violations. (Heck, letting Saddam ignore world body decrees is their favorite hobby lately!)

Jesus, we are waiting desperately for You to come!!!!
Good, and Gracious Father, we **beseech** Thee to give Divine Comfort to these frightened soldiers who have been fighting to purge all that is evil from that land. Please, Lord, we **implore** that You place Your hands over the hearts of the families, and keep them from breaking wide open.
And we ask of You, our Almighty Father, to forgive us during this time...for our human anger, and our human reactions of wanting to obliterate the likes of every one of them. Forgive us for our private images of wanting to inflict the worst pain imaginable upon these evil captors, and for the sheer delight we are feeling as a result of these hypothetical situations in our minds.
Lord of all, we know that You are the Ultimate Soldier of Goodness. It is with Your desire for evil to be crushed, that we are prepared to destroy it.
Deuteronomy 17:7
You must purge the evil from among you.
We adore You, Father!
Team..."LET'S RRRRRRRrrrOLLLLLLLLLLL!"
Romans 13:4
For he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.

Hmmmm.... I wonder what their logic is, self-defense?
You know they aren't really for peace, most of the protestors are anarchists IMO.
Stay away from scum, it's not good for your blood pressure.

I stayed up very late last night...almost 3 a.m. MT and my husband was listening to the Iraqi Defense Minister go on and on with a propaganda speech. Every other word was an insult to the US and UK. How we were "with hysteria" and they were "pushing us back into the swamps" and we "were running and scared". Then they used the footage of the skirmish at Umm Qasar as proof that the Iraqi soldiers were defeating us. I wanted to mute it.
Then he began to make fun of "Shock and Awe". Kept repeating it saying we were the ones who would be shocked and awed.
It's time for the MOAB.

When did they sell the equipment?

You must understand that we aren't used to dealing with these animals?

>It is a sad fact and one more exposure of why this regime had to be destroyed.<<
One more exposure to why we need to pull everyone and everything of ours out.
Except a couple of nukes large enough to destroy the entire region and all the human refuse in it.

Agreed. I have to go to a birthday party at 3pm today for my best friend's 5 year old. I hope I can shed this hostility before then. I am so beyond pissed right now.

UK Minister said this morning, "he's alive, but wounded" and Rumsfeld is quoted as saying, "Assume he is alive and well".
Just passing the info, I obviously have no idea.
To: cyncooper
Wolf trying to bait Rumsfeld with talk of how the Shock and Awe campaign's impact on third world masses, and will incite them to action against US. Rummy comes back with how diplomatic efforts have repeatedly failed over twelve year period. War, unfortunately, is the last resort. With emphasis, tells Blitzed that responding with weakness will not solve problems. These people must be shown force, and that is what was shown them the other night. And they were very technical strike, with few civilian casualities. Thank God for him and others, who remain patient with the brain-dump press and their inane questions. I would not have the patience to do what they do.

If one was Tariq, then the tapes showed since the bombing are fake since he was in both of them. To me, that means Saddam is gone too. Those tapes showing the table and Saddam, Tariq and the rest definitely seem to be file tape. And of course the implication of hauling out and airing a file tape is obvious.
Let us pray it is so. Though I hear increasing talk of Saddam being wounded not killed. Even in that scenario he would have been hit. The effect on him, especially if he knows some of those right there with him at the time were killed, why that must have done a number on him. Plus, how serious was the wounding--life threatening? Has he died, just not immediately? So many questions. And we will get the answers------soon.

Tikrit, a Saddamite stronghold, would serve as an instructive example to Baghdad.

Do you understand what you are saying when you say we should go door to door? No sense at all...
