BTW, KNTV-11 reported in their 11pm newscast tonight that SFPD will no longer be allowed to wear flag bandanas...the appeaseniks felt intimidated.

The city's police officers have been told by department heads they may not wear American flags on their helmets or hats.

The directive came after several people complained about the red, white and blue bandanas that some San Francisco police officers wore during a support-the-troops rally over the weekend.

Those opposed to the patriotic police headgear said it intimidated them and therefore infringed upon their right to express anti-war views.

In issuing the policy, Assistant Chief Alex Fagan said it was inappropriate for officers to wear any kind of symbols on their heads, whether they are peace symbols, swastikas or Old Glory.
