Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A breif description of what the graphic is would help:
To all who helped this get started, thank you!
Special thanks to An.American.Expatriate for staring the daily threads, Mo1 for the screamer, the AdminMods for their tolerance, and, of course, Belly Girl...

Damn....they refer to Viet Nam as the '10,000 day war'. Every time we as much as suggest military involvement, the left yells quagmire. Either they are true socialists or true p*ssies. It's my personal opinion they are BOTH.

This stuff wasnt half bad, reminded me of those lunchables pre-packed lunches they sell at the grocery store, it wasnt like home cooking but it was edible

Story is verified , but casualty numbers have not been .. Pentagon said less than 10 killed, and numerous injuries.

Two US cruise missiles have misfired and landed in Turkey, according to reports.
A US defense official said: "Two Tomahawk cruise missiles misfired, landing in an unpopulated area in the Republic of Turkey. There were no reported injuries."
More follows...

What is Hack's deal anyway? Does he have some ax to grind with the military or something? Hackworth makes his living bitching about how the military is all screwed up. He's a prostitute.

What is the huge fireball towards Greely CO? I work at Denver Center at Longmont and a pilot called reporting a huge fireball towards Greeley. We went outside and the whole sky is lit up and we are aat least 25 miles away. ?????

Thank you for your service. This is no quagmire, and VN would not have been, if we'd exercised will.

A US defense official said: "Two Tomahawk cruise missiles misfired, landing in an unpopulated area in the Republic of Turkey. There were no reported injuries." Hmm maybe close to the Iraqi border where Turkish troops are massing????
Sort of a "Oops we bombed the french Embassy in Libya and the Chinese Embassy in Serbia" type thing?

That's a joke right...Itd better not be a fertalizer factory!
Sorry, let me make that a bit more clear:
"Correction... CNN has learned and can now report that CNN itself is a fertilizer factory. Film at 11."

We went outside and the whole north eastern sky is lit up

For the many Hobbit fans: LOTR 2 won another one, this time for Sound Editing.
But somebody from the movie "Freda" made a crack saying if Freda wre alive, she'd be on the right side, against war.
A few yells, but little aplause over this.

We can see it here from our back deck in Longmont. It is very strange the whole sky is "throbbing" with orange light. Is it a fire of some sort? No news here yet.
