(CBS) An American soldier is among three suspects being held in connection with a grenade and small-arms attack that injured at least 16 U.S. soldiers at Camp Pennsylvania in northern Kuwait, reports CBS News Correspondent Mark Strassman, who is on the scene with the Army's 101st Airborne Division.
Eleven of the injured were hurt so seriously they had to be choppered out of the camp.
Strassmann said three grenades were rolled into three officers' tents at the camp. When officers ran from the tents, they were hit by small arms fire.
Three suspects were being held for questioning: two Kuwaitis who served as translators and an American soldier described as an engineering sergeant.
The American was found injured and hiding in a bunker. Asked if he was hurt throwing a grenade, Strassman reports the soldier replied, "Yes."
Separately, Strassmann reported, an Iraqi rocket fired at U.S. forces in Kuwait was destroyed by Patriot missiles launched from nearby Camp New Jersey.
The attacks on U.S. troops came as the American assault on Iraq gained steam. American and British forces besieged the southern city of Basra and pounded Baghdad with impunity.
Coalition ground forces crossed the Euphrates River and were within 150 miles of the capital. Theyre still meeting only light resistance, with many Iraqi troops surrendering or simply leaving the battlefield.
But six divisions of the Republican Guard, Saddam's best and most loyal soldiers, were still in the way.
The U.S. is the only country on the planet with the power to draw new borders and cause social changes.
The option of isolation was given up at the onset of WWII.
This struggle to change the face of radical Islam will last a generation or more. Get used to it!
Isolating them will not work. And, you can and will never kill them all. Their children will do the same.
If you are pissed because of Bush's positive statement about Islam, remember that he is responsible for the entire social health and welfare of this country. If he had not done what he did, vigilantes would have been destroying social order.
He knows.
The Bush Administration seeks regime change in the wrong place Iraq while opposing regime change in the places where such a transition would make a huge positive difference Russia, China and North Korea.
Iraq's current regime is not close to developing nuclear weapons. Iraq is severely crippled, both militarily and economically, by international sanctions.
If Saddam Hussein is removed from power, international sanctions will be lifted and Iraq will become a massive exporter of oil. Iraq has the second largest deposit of oil reserves in the world. Only terrorist Saudi Arabia has more oil than Iraq.
The massive Iraqi oil exports will create a super-wealthy new Iraqi regime that will easily be able to acquire nuclear weapons.
President Bush's preposterous talk of a new "democratic" Iraq is laughable.
No nation that believes in the evil, hateful religion of Islam will ever accept Western democratic principles.
The new post-Saddam Hussein Iraqi regime will be far more dangerous than the current one because it will not be hampered by international sanctions that make the purchase of advanced technology almost impossible.
Indeed, the U.S. taxpayers will rebuild Iraq and make it stronger and therefore more dangerous than ever before.
As soon as the U.S. military leaves, Iraq will rejoin the rest of the Muslim world to become as all Muslim nations are a nest of anti-American, anti-Christian, anti-Israel and anti-Jewish fanaticism, hatred and envy.
To put it simply, the "new" Iraq after Saddam Hussein will be far more dangerous for the following reasons:
Iraq will become immensely wealthy as there will no longer be international restrictions on the massive oil exports that Baghdad is capable of. This new oil money will be used to acquire nuclear weapons.
Iraq will be allowed to buy the most advanced technology that can be used to produce nuclear, chemical and biological weapons of mass destruction. Currently, international sanctions do not permit Iraq to make such purchases.
Iraq's infrastructure will be rebuilt with massive infusions of money and technology supplied by the U.S. taxpayers. The more Iraq is turned into a modern, stable and strong nation, the more dangerous it will become. Also, by having U.S. taxpayers cover the costs of rebuilding Iraq's economy, the U.S. is freeing Iraq from the need to spend money on economic and domestic concerns. That leaves much more money available for Iraq to pursue the acquisition of nuclear, chemical and biological weapons of mass destruction.
Of course, Bush insists that Iraq will turn into a Western-style democracy.
The absurdity of such an assertion can be demonstrated by the fact that every single one of the world's 65 Muslim nations is a brutal dictatorship.
There has never been a free or democratic Muslim nation in history, nor will there be, nor can there ever be.
Freedom and the Islamic religion are utterly incompatible concepts. They cannot coexist. For Muslims to embrace true principles of liberty, justice and human rights, they would have to stop being Muslims.
President Bush's father promised us that Kuwait would become a democracy after the 1991 Persian Gulf War.
The U.S. liberated Kuwait and occupied it just as Washington plans to do with Iraq.
As soon as the U.S. left, the old Islamic laws were back in force in Kuwait.
To this day, only Muslims are permitted to be citizens of Kuwait. Non-Muslims, described by official Kuwaiti law as "infidels," have no rights whatsoever.
Kuwait has also returned to the time-honored Islamic tradition of financing anti-American and anti-Israel Muslim terrorism. Kuwait gives tens of millions of dollars each year to the murderous Muslim terrorists of Hezballah, Fatah, Hamas and Islamic Jihad, all of whom have headquarters in the Kuwaiti capital.
The Kuwaiti media which is completely controlled by the ruling regime broadcasts nonstop Nazi hatred against all non-Muslims in general, and against the U.S. and Israel in particular.
This is typical of Islamic "gratitude" when American soldiers give their lives to rescue Muslims.
The Jew-hater Bill Clinton promised to bring "democracy" to Bosnia, Albania and Kosovo when he ordered the U.S. Air Force to massively bomb the heroic Serb Christians, who were defending themselves and Western civilization against Islamic terrorism in Europe.
Bosnia and Albania are now notorious breeding grounds for international Islamic terrorism including members of Al Qaeda.
Most of the heroin, cocaine and other narcotics smuggling into Europe originates in Albania where the entire country is run like a Muslim organized crime gang.
There are now millions of drug addicts in the "infidel" nations of Christian Europe thanks to the massive narcotics smuggling and distribution by Muslim gangs whose bosses are in Bosnia and Albania.
Albanian and Bosnian Muslim criminals also run huge prostitution, child pornography and gambling operations throughout Europe.
These criminal enterprises achieve two goals for the sinister Muslim regimes of Albania and Bosnia: first, they provide most of the income that supports the local Albanian and Bosnian Muslim populations (the rest of the income comes from U.S. and European foreign aid); and second, they morally weaken and destroy the "infidel" Christian nations, making them ripe for an eventual Muslim takeover.
Kosovo was always an integral part of the Serb homeland. The Clinton Administration helped the Albanian Muslim terrorists steal this Serb land and turn it into an Islamic slaughterhouse where Nazi genocide is being committed against innocent Serb Christians.
In the recent war in Afghanistan, we were told once again that we would bring "democracy" to the Afghan people.
Where is the democracy? Where are the free elections? Where are the human rights?
The only thing that we did bring to Afghanistan was a drastic increase in heroin exports from the nation's poppy fields.
The new Afghan regime is run by brutal tribal warlords who are now busy killing each other in Afghanistan's never-ending multiple civil wars.
Afghan rulers have promised to create an Islamic regime similar to the terrorist Muslim dictatorship of Iran.
So we see that promises of instilling "democracy" and Western values in Muslim nations never materialized in Kuwait, Bosnia, Albania, Kosovo or Afghanistan.
It will never happen in Iraq, either.
Instead of invading Iraq, the U.S. should start out by bombing and destroying the nuclear reactors and laboratories of North Korea and Iran where the threat is far more severe than in Iraq.
Furthermore, the U.S. should push for regime change only in non-Muslim countries such as Russia, China and North Korea.
In non-Muslim nations, regime change can have a positive impact because the people in these countries are not sworn to a religion like Islam, which commands them to hate and exterminate all "infidels."
That is why America was able to prevent the ideological rebirth of fascism and Nazism in Germany and Japan after World War II.
Although the German and Japanese people committed the worst war crimes in history, and were evil beyond the imagination of any decent human being, they were motivated by nationalistic rather than religious hatred.
> When Germany and Japan lost the war, they were forced to accept reality.
They did not genuinely regret the horrific Satanic crimes that they had committed. The only thing that they regretted was losing the war.
But when they decisively lost, they were realistic enough to end their ambition of world conquest. <
The Muslims, on the other hand, cannot end their ambition of world conquest because to do so would be to abandon the Islamic religion.
> Removing Saddam Hussein from Iraq and installing some other Muslim in his place would be like removing Hitler in Germany and putting Goebbels in his place.
The problem in World War II was not just Hitler, but the entire Nazi ideology.
The problem today is not Saddam Hussein or Yasser Arafat or Osama Bin Laden, but the Muslim religion itself, which for 1,400 years has taught Muslims to despise and annihilate all non-Muslims.
However, in Russia, China and North Korea, regime change can have the same result that we witnessed in Germany and Japan after World War II.
Our many loyal readers may have noticed that the views expressed on this web site are not found anywhere else.
Everyone else is divided into two camps: the pro-Bush camp, comprised of Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Bill O'Reilly, Fox, the Republicans and the so-called conservatives; and the anti-Bush camp, comprised of Democrats, leftists, the news media and Hollywood, who are even worse than the pro-Bush camp.
Both camps are leading America to certain disaster.
It is only a matter of time before millions of Americans or Israelis or other "infidels" perish in an Islamic nuclear terrorist attack, G-d forbid, unless we reverse course and face the enemy honestly and courageously.
The enemy is not terrorism or the Iraqi regime or Al Qaeda.
The enemy is Islam.
We can prevent a Muslim nuclear holocaust if we sound the alarm now!
Here is the link to the thread about Williams/Mohammad throwing a thermite thread into a tent filled with soldiers in Desert Storm: "...[John Muhammad] Williamss unit was sent to Operation Desert Storm to clear mines and bulldoze holes in enemy lines. A few nights before the invasion of Iraq, Sergeant Berentson awoke in the early hours to find his tent, with 16 sleeping men inside, on fire. Someone had tossed in a thermite grenade. Berentson, who was fed up with Williamss insubordination, immediately suspected Williams and told the Armys Criminal Investigative Division. Berentson says he last saw Williams being led away in handcuffs. Williamss military records make no mention of the incident; indeed, they suggest Williams had a distinguished gulf-war stint. But Berentson always kept Williamss name and dog-tag number in his wallet. He says he was not surprised to see Williamss face on television..."
This perp was striking out at infidels. His success was made entirely possible by Political Correctness, the left's very own weapon of mass destruction.
The question is, what are we prepared to do about it. I'm getting damned tired of losing good Americans for nothing.
