Nice pictures, thanks. Yes, I also notice that the media just cannot stop wallowing in the anti-America, anti-Bush coverage.
I hope our troops know that those who support and appreciate them are vastly more numerous than the commies who should move to France.

Nice rally. Wish I could have been there, but we were
busy in Milwaukee as well (Milwaukee PD estimated at 2500, was closer to 3500). Now, for the question:
(Put a 'point of technology' - if the pictures are on your site, but linked through FR, does that really take up FR bandwidth? Seems to me they just come from your server to the browser.)
It does take up a tiny bit of bandwidth on the FR server; just enough to pass through the <img src="http://www.eggstor.com/FR_Pics/Dano-Rally322-IM000900small.jpg"> tag (yes, you do need the full address; otherwise it'll assume the picture is on FR, and that's a thumbnail of one of the Milwaukee rally pics a web-siteless FReeper sent me to post). That causes your browser to call up the site where the picture is to display it (assuming that you did it right. What is helpful is if you put the size of the picture ("width=W height=H" where the size is WxH pixels) in the IMG tag; that'll cause the browser to set aside the appropriate size in the browser while it loads the rest of the thread.

Hey I have to tell you, you sign was one of the best, I think out of all the signs the only one that had you beat was the "SADAM HUSSEIN IS IMUNE TO FLOWER POWER".

There was a press table? When I got there, there were so many people I couln't find anything. I'm new to protesting, but when I got there, I was a little confused. I thought we were supposed to have Fed Plaza. It looked like we had to share it with the anti-war creeps. I liked the Harley parade too. At first I thought somebody had brought an F-14 with them and was driving it around the block. It was fabulous!

OUTSTANDING! Indubitably, the message of support for our troops & the Iraqi people was ennunciated, in a most vocal fashion! My congratulations to both the organizers & participants: the attendees were palpably left with a hunger for more such events!
I myself was very much impressed with the seamless quality of the entire event; spontenaity & impromptu events blended together with the program as if all were choreographed from beforehand. The MC did a masterful perfromance! Such a pity that the media trivializes & sensationalizes the issues by gratuitously inserting antagonism; a true (& unanswered) debate was unfolding. The incisive logic of the points made was equalled only by the deep conviction of the sentiments expressed. The press has done themselves a grave disservice by merely focussing on the superficial. Yet such to a lamentably large extent is our "free press", as is well-known.
The presence of the Assyrian community also truly bolstered the stand taken; I had the pleasure of enging one individual in brief conversation who stated that what was happening in Iraq right now was "a dream come true". Prayer for the Iraqi people underscored that our fight is not with them, but with the malignacy of the evil regime.
The crowd was marvellous, overflowing the packed plaza to all surrounding streets. The enthusiam was too contagious. All ages & all walks of life were represented. I myself journeyed down from Waukegan (30 miles north) via train. I perceived before the next stop that a couple, two seats behind me, were also rally-bound. I have the full assurance that many more such were on that train before we arrived downtown. Demonstrably, heretofore reticent citizens are willing to pay the price to vocalize their support for our troops & commander-in-chief.
I was gratified to see so many FReepers old & new. I am very grateful for the efforts of those who organized this event!
Thank you all...
