Ever heard of the inquisition? Theocracies are dangerous, regardless of the religion.

Yes, that UMC.
In the past few weeks, I have really studied the United Methodist Book of Discipline only to discover I am a member of a Church who's leadership holds in contempt all the values I was raised upon. Some of their positions are so far left they make Al Gore look like Bill Bennett.

"Ever heard of the inquisition? Theocracies are dangerous, regardless of the religion."

Hmmm, let's see. I think I did hear about that one.
Ain't that the one old Dostoevsky wrotted about in "The Grand Inquisitor"?

I think I mentioned there had been Christian wars.

Why don't we all just accept it and stop beating around the bush and walking on eggshells. We are currently engaged in a global war with Christians and Jews on one side and socialists and muslims on the other. That's the bottom line, and that's reality. All the PC in the world can't change that. And to win any war, you need to acknowledge exactly who the enemy is.

I don't think the "Black Muslims" are really Muslims. I think their motivation is the following:

- they HATE whites to such an extent that they'd fall on their swords before accpeting a "white" religion

- they're LEFTISTS, SOCIALISTS, COMMUNISTS, and ANARCHISTS, and they're USING Islam to protect and camouflage their views. The essense of Communism is its insidiousness, its ability to look like something else. If anything we should feel sorry for the millions of peaceful Muslims who have had their religion HIJACKED. I'm a Christian, raised Catholic, but that doesn't mean I support what Hitler did to Christianity when he was in power--he hijecked it and twisted it to his ends. It is characteristic of evil men.

Resentment. That's what they just announced on Fox is the reason why the traitor went berserk. When it was first announced a soldier was missing, I immediately thought he was the culprit and that he was a black muslim. But I didn't say anything, not wanting to be flamed. I should have known better.

Resentment. I guess he just couldn't take it anymore, being there for the past four days and watching bombs rain down on fellow muslims. Of course, the fact that liberated Iraqis greet our troops with gratitude doesn't factor into his feelings. All he can see is the leftist lie that we are "invading" Iraq, and it finally set him off.

I think it's about time that the loyalty of all muslims in the armed forces is seriously questioned and put under a microscope. If that's not PC, too f*cking bad. The ACLU and civil libertarians can whine until they die and rot. We have to expose and unmask evil everywhere it happens to be, and then deal with it. Perhaps muslims in the armed forces should remain in CONUS in some support position, and be kept out of the theater of combat.

Amen. I don't want to hear of a "muslim chaplain" again as long as I live. Islam has to prove itself as a "religion" before we treat it as such. After 9/11 and the deafening silence of their "religious" "leaders" it looks much more like a death cult than a religion.

These chaplains are no different than the imams. They prey upon people who are disgruntled or (I hate to use the word, leftist talking point that it is) disenfranchised. They work on such people and make them feel they are victims, and instill in them a deep hatred and resentment. To be honest, the muslim imams use the same tactics as socialist demagogues.

Thank you, Dear. I have found out that SSgt Mike was at a nearby but different camp than PA. Hopefully he hadn't moved. It was officers that were hurt (prayers for them!), so he would probably be in a different tent anyway.

I sit here tired, glued to the news and wishing this were over so I could get a good nights sleep. Then I think of ALL those men and women in the dust and sand and bombs and fatigue and fear and danger and... and then I'm ashamed.

God bless them all.

Thank you, much! We now know that Mike is/was at a different camp.

Let's pray there aren't more muslim GIs who are treasonous b*stards.

They are saying now that other soldiers reported he was strange (if he was, why he would be allowed to guard any ammo/grenades/etc. is beyond me). Now everything is speculation at this point, but because speculation is fun, I'm going to throw out drugs.

Glad everything is ok with you. We have to know who the enemy is. Those that consider this war against their religious beliefs need to be sent back home.

Those that consider this war against their religious beliefs need to be sent back home.

We still don't know if religion had anything to do with this, but according to SkyNews :

He said fears about the soldier's behaviour had been raised in recent days by colleagues.

"In recent days they were concerned about his behaviour and were not going to send him up to the front when the soldiers were going to be deployed."

Regardless of whether religion had anything to do with it, if he was acting "weird" enough not to be sent to the front, he should have been checked out. My brother-in-law (retired Army), thinks there was a breakdown somewhere in the chain of command. He said if somebody under his command was not considered fit enough to serve on the line for whatever reason, he sure as hell wouldn't be allowed to guard the armory.

You just know the lefties are going to grab onto this if there is this turns out to be "stress-related" or whatever and not religion-related. They will turn on the sympathy for him. I say strap him to the hood of a Humvee when they drive into Baghdad.

Thanks for the info. Joining you in hoping SSgt Mike hadn't moved.

I understand about being glued to the news and tired and wishing it was over and then being ashamed. The roller coaster ride of war.

I actually went out with one of the youngers for a bit this evening. It seems so strange to be out walking around watching people in their normal routines. Then I realized that this is the very freedom that our troops are fighting for. I stopped in my tracks and said a silent word of thanks.

I suspect there will be questions asked all across the Services in the next couple of days.
