Dan Rather is reporting some sort of explosion inside 101st Airborne tents ... at least six soldiers injured ... no reports of any killed at this moment ... unknown if attack or accident ... developing ...

Most Milwaukee affiliate stations gave up war covertage at 9:00 AM CST. WTMJ (NBC) held out 'till noon. Nothing but golf, basketball or hockey. Our local Fox station (WITI)ran some sappy local news then on to "Ask Gus" then info-commercials.

Only about 50% of the homes in SE WI have cable. I don't have cable either.

The reporter said that they did not know at the time whether it was a grendade or what, but they suspected a sappur(?)attack. The attack happened in a camp where members of the 101st were sleeping at the time. The reporter said he saw leg and arm wounds on at least 6 soldiers.

Doesn't really matter now. The B-52's seem to be taking off every 6-10 hours now, so basically they are bombing round the clock. I believe this is the third wave in the last 15 hours.

They've only been on one mission so far, that was when they took off yesterday at 11:00AM local time.

remember what Pentagon pointed out about the embedded reporters - they are actually able to instantly convey fairly detailed info. about events out in the field long before official reports are able to be passed back up the wire. Thus I imagine this reporter's story is correct but only time will tell what the cause of the incident was; hopefully not a terrorist attack or an accident with ammo.

The story deserved more than the two sentence reporting that it was, if the journalist is serious, that is. Consider - a Freeper a few threads above this has a loved one named Ross with this 101st Airborne unit. Why break in to scare people without any real information or follow-up. Considering that when a WH source says one little thing, the press conferences with Ari Fleischer ask repeatedly for additional information. Surely we are entitled to more information when lives are at stake.
