It is one thing to say it is "the greatest story" he has ever witnissed. I certainly can believe that! But to say that "this is great fun"? That will not go across well even with middle America when American lives are at stake.

1. Not breaking.
2. Who said it?
To: ArcLight
I was surfing and caught that too. He said the adrenaline is flowing. The soldiers who have been sitting around are finally doing what they came for. They have the goal in sight and can return home after the job is done.

Walter Rodgers said it live from the field. Aaron Brown was clearly taken aback with a definite smirk on his face. He then asked Rodgers to clarify his statement and Rodgers wouldn't shut up. Kept going on what a hoot he was having. lol. Then the advisor joined Rodgers in agree how exciting it was.

I just posted this on another thread:
You know, I was skeptical at first of this idea of embedding the journalists into the forward military units, but I think now that it was a stroke of genius. It provides all the immediate photos that they want, but gets the journalists in the field emotiotionally involved in the outcome, and FORCES them to see the war from our side, FOR ONCE!!

Bush & Co. are masterful. Embedded reporters, indeed.

His name is Walter Rodgers. I have been living for his reports for two days. The guy is WONDERFUL. Very pro military. EVERY single report this guy turns in is exciting, informative and also very Pro US Military. He is riding with the 7th Calvary. His report last night on the Kiowa scouts was the BEST!!!

Having been a reporter for many years, I can confirm this assignment would be the height of adrenaline-mainlining "fun." No surprise Aaron Brown doesn't get it. He's a talking head -- and an uber-prissy one at that -- not an experiencer. Have fun, Walter, and come back in one piece!

That will not go across well even with middle America when American lives are at stake. I dunno, I might agree with you if it was someone sitting in a TV studio watching it on TV. But I think this guy's probably picking up on the gung-ho attitude of the guys he's with. And his life is going to be on the line, too, if and when they see combat.
If he wants to have fun, it's OK with me.
