I keep hearing the "Isengard Theme" when I think of shock & awe and all those B-52s/B-1s/B-2s/F-117s/F-15s/F-16s/F-4s unloading on the beastly brood of Saddamites.

Ivan, do you have any info or links as to why the US Marines were placed under British command?...was it a political, or a tactical decision?...YOu have great expertise in desert warfare, and the Brit troops are superb, but there's always a danger inherent in coordinating between two different nations...even though we both speak the same language (g)...was it done mainly to give Blair cover..refute the "Bush's poodle" crowd?

I would be THRILLED if we didn't have to use the "Shock and Awe" plan. I would rather see mass surrenders and less loss of life. Wouldn't you? I pray that the peace comes swiftly and that the people of Iraq will finally be FREE.AMEN!

Yes, it would be *wonderful* not to use the Shock and Awe plan...however, if it *is* used I trust our military in their decision.
