FRANCE THREATENS NEW UN VETO
Sky News ^ | March 21, 2003

Posted on 03/21/2003 8:02:07 AM PST by Dog Gone

France would block any UN resolution giving the US and Britain the power of administration in Iraq, French President Jacques Chirac has declared.

He said France would still not support a resolution backing war at this stage and would also oppose a resolution giving Washington and London administrative power in Iraq.

"This idea of a resolution seems to me to be a way of authorising military intervention after the event, and so is not, in my point of view, fitting in the current situation," Mr Chirac said at a news conference in Brussels.

"France would not accept a resolution that authorises military intervention and gives the United States and Britain administrative powers in Iraq."

Seriously, I'd expect that we might not even ask the irrelevant UN for anything in this matter. If the UN won't let us defend ourselves when our society is at stake, they sure as heck aren't about to let us administer Iraq.

Perhaps someone should quietly suggest to Messr. Chiraq that he should sit down and shut up before the US and UK assume administrative control over his little cesspool of a country.

Either the French are completely stupid, or they are secret Bush allies. Their veto gave Bush the reason to just go ahead without UN interference. If France threatens to veto UN administration of post-war Iraq, the US will just do it ourselves, like we did with Japan

I think we've shown that we don't need a vote from the UN. We will liberate Iraq and as liberators will supervise the re-building of a viable and free nation.

"They are betting that the German cabinet member is right, who predicted that the US would 'have to remorsefully return to the SC' for financial aid to rebuild Iraq. They believe that the USA will have no alternative to returning to the UN...That the option of simply beginning the reconstruction without its help is an impossibility."

That minister would have to be on something considering the USA give by far the most amount of money to that stinky organization.

France who?

France is a socialist third world country in Old Europe. They are famous for their ability to surrender. They speak a language called "French." French is like Latin, but less people speak it.

Can anyone help by providing the live camera coverage of the war by Sky News?

I can't find a link on their home page.

They are famous for their ability to surrender.

Now we have all the proof we need that the French have been training the Iraqis.
