FRANCE THREATENS NEW UN VETO
Sky News ^ | March 21, 2003

France would block any UN resolution giving the US and Britain the power of administration in Iraq, French President Jacques Chirac has declared.

He said France would still not support a resolution backing war at this stage and would also oppose a resolution giving Washington and London administrative power in Iraq.

"This idea of a resolution seems to me to be a way of authorising military intervention after the event, and so is not, in my point of view, fitting in the current situation," Mr Chirac said at a news conference in Brussels.

"France would not accept a resolution that authorises military intervention and gives the United States and Britain administrative powers in Iraq."

France doesn't realize that it has become irrelevant.

Ah, poor France. They think someone might actually be listening to what they have to say. Earth to France - no one gives a darn what you have to say. Time to quit your temper tantrum Mr. Chirac. The guy is a lunatic, I swear.

Chirac still doesn't get it: He, France, and the U.N. have become irrelevant.

Now if we can just keep the Saddamocrat party flapping it's pie-hole, we can include them soon.

I am really not sure why Chirac has decided to make the destruction of the UN as a viable body his personal goal, but I for one am thankful.

What country to invade next? Iran, North Korea, or France? I vote for France.

Are the Boy Scouts busy this weekend?

Apparently our French brothers and sisters are not through destroying the U.N.

We also have veto power, and could prevent ANY UN based program, defaulting to the occupying forces (US and UK). Nothing the Frogs could do unless they want to challenge us militarily. Well, do ya punk?

Chirac has truly become the Madwoman in the Attic.

The Bush Administration better make the French pay through the nose for the treachery of Jack Chirac.

I have faith in GWB's ability to avoid this new trap.

Exactly. I doubt we'll be participating in any more UN games.

No UN resolution is going to give the US and Britain the power of administration in Iraq. That power is going to be given by thousands of brave American and British troops.

Am I missing something here? We (Coalition of the Willing)invade Iraq, we will overthrow Hussein, we will free the people of Iraq, we will set up a democracy, OUR troops risk all for this - and face the possibility of being killed by french supplied weaponry - and chirac is dictating terms to US?!? Is there no end to this arrogance?
Obviously the man is demented - he still thinks the UN is relevant.
