Waving rifle, Iraqi minister says port won't fall
BAGHDAD, March 21 (Reuters) - Wielding a rifle, Iraq's interior minister said on Friday that a vital Iraqi port on the Gulf would not fall to a U.S.-led invasion.
"This is silly talk. Umm Qasr is an Iraqi port and is going to remain an Iraqi port," Interior Minister Mahmoud Diyab al-Ahmed told a news conference, raising a rifle above his shoulder and pointing at the ceiling. "It will be hard for them to take it."
He also said that victory was guaranteed for Iraq. "We don't want to kill the people of America and Britain, we don't have a problem with them, but they got a first taste of what to expect yesterday when 12 of them were incinerated," he said, referring to a helicopter crash.
Reuters reporter Adrian Croft said earlier from Umm Qasr that U.S. marines lowered the Iraqi flag over the new port area but had not captured the old port area about one mile (1.5 km) away.

It's sad to see these last futile gasps out of these so-called Iraqi leaders. Played for dupes all these years, they continue to act the fool for Saddam.....

When it falls (shortly), can we get this same fellow back for the purposes of laughing at him?
Iraq's regime is so full of hot air and bluster, no wonder Bill Clinton elected not to remove it - they're kindred souls.

CNN reports that our flag now flies over the port city.
Iraq's coast belongs to the Anglo-Americans--the oil terminals, the brothels, all of it.

Well, this guy can talk the talk but lets see if he can walk it once he gets a whiff of the grape. If so, it would be the first Iraqi I've seen yet who stood up and fought like a man.

Iraqi leaders are about as delusional as the Washington press corp
To: JohnHuang2
LOL! He has no idea the British already took the port. What a bald-faced lie. And that stunt with the assault rifle was as phony as the silly displays indulged in by our domestic pro-Saddam fifth columnists.

An Iraqi prankster off camera popped a paper bag and the minister promptly crapped his pants and shot himself in the foot.

Your excellent graphic...is now saved to my files!
I like the red, white and blue striping...sort of like an American Airlines scheme.

"We don't want to kill the people of America and Britain, we don't have a problem with them, but they got a first taste of what to expect yesterday when 12 of them were incinerated," There's a JDAM awaiting delivery with this troglodyte's name on it.

Now if Boeing wants to keep the 747 lines open, this looks like just the ticket.
