Gathered information from KFI radio, local television, and police scanner:
The idiots at the corner of Wilshire & Veteran are growing in number, cops are starting to fight back (hear a lot of "double time" and "need it yesterday"), and reports are that the crowd is starting to burn flags.
Before its newscast ended, KABC-TV showed riot-geared police pushing folks out of streets and onto sidewalks. The poor reporter was obviously shaken and quake-voiced. Looked ugly and sounds like it's getting worse as of 19:02.

Naw, I don't hunt 'em for food, just for fun. Leave 'em for the possums.

Which intersection was it? I often work at the Wadsworth Theater at the VA compound.... It's the corner of Wilshire and Federal. I'm on the 25th floor of the World Savings Building on that corner in Brentwood. My office overlooks the Wadsworth Theater (Veterans Admin). Apparently there are a lot of Freepers in Brentwood. :)
But the protestors show up there regularly ... yesterday they roamed from my corner to the Federal Building a block away.

Well, if they do break the law, then I hope they rot in jail for a looooonnnnggg time

WILSHIRE & VETERAN? Someone mis-identified the corner. It's Wilshire and Federal. With the massive Veteran's Administration at that corner. :)

The Rodney King riots in LA were HUGR compared to this. These protests are fairly meager. HUGR? Seriesly?

Turn on FM 97.1 right now for the Conway & Steckler show. They are interviewing all the anti-Bush nuts.

These kids are desperate for attention.

The chick they are talking to right now says we should be spending money on education and shouldn't try to kill Saddam Hussein.

Tonight's protestors are at Wilshire & Veteran.

Now she complaining that some guy was beat in the face by the police last night. They just cut her off and told her she's crazy.

"We want the money, the billions of dollars that they are already spending on the war to be spent on clinics, schools and books, creating real jobs," Ahuja said.
Hold on just a minute, Mr. A. Since when is it the Federal Government's responsibility to 'create' a job? Those are created in the private sector, which is fleeing California en masse.
-'on clinics'-as if doctors cruelly turn people away without insurance-many do not, thus dispelling the myth of golf-playing lords; in fact there are a few doctors who are still in debt trying to pay back their education loans-working for the government doesn't make this any easier for them.
-'schools and books'-What? More money wasted to churn out 'graduates' so ignorant they can't even read their own diplomas?
'We want the money'-You think the President is just going to up and say, "Okay Mr. Ahuja, you and your friends can help yourselves to the federal budget coffers"? Dream on.
Earth to Protesters: If you want more money, to go to college, get health care, and to go to work, here's what you all need to do: GET OFF YOUR DUFFS AND FIND A JOB!

LAPD told those two with their faces covered to remove the masks or go to jail........
Their faces are covered for just one reason........
ok, two reasons.....the obvious and they're ugly!

Those arrested should be made to promise they will obey public-order laws. If they are arrested a second time, BAIL SHOULD BE DENIED.
To: Cinnamon Girl
Thank you :)

Isn't the National Guard or an Army Depot right at the SE corner there?
Is World Savings actually a business? It's so generic, I assumed the sign was put up for a film and never changed back.
If they break into the Wadsworth and mess up my lovely "Are You Hot?" set, woooh, I'm gonna be pi$$ed. I hope none of the "Hotties" taping the show were inconvenienced....
