URGENT MESSAGE TO D.C. AREA FREEPERS AND LURKERS: YOUR HELP NEEDED THIS SUNDAY 3/23
D.C. Chapter ^ | Thursday, March 20, 2003 | Kristinn

Posted on 03/20/2003 7:04:27 PM PST by kristinn

If you live in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, your help is needed this Sunday at the Lincoln Memorial. The D.C. Chapter of Free Republic is holding a rally there to support our troops fighting overseas in Iraq and elsewhere as the war on terror continues.

You have probably seen the temper tantrums thrown by the "anti-war" crowd in several large cities today. These have been orchestrated by the far left to disrupt our lives, hinder the war effort and hurt morale at home and abroad.

We cannot let those actions go unanswered and let that be the image of American sentiment seen by our troops overseas. To counter that image, you need to sacrifice a few hours this Sunday afternoon and bring your patriotic self to the rally at the Lincoln Memorial.

Make no mistake--the media will be there. We've already received many queries from the press about the rally wanting to know how many people will be there to support the troops. Believe it or not, there are America-loving people in the media who would be thrilled to cover a large patriotic rally in our nation's capital. Some of them are former military who know what it means to the troops when all they see are "anti-war" rallies in the news.

For the troops to see a large crowd on Sunday, it will require you to cancel your plans for that afternoon and come to the rally for a few hours.

Bring your families, tell your friends and co-workers, spam your e-mail chains. The members of the D.C. Chapter have done everything we can to make this rally one the troops can be proud of. The only thing we can't do is bus people in or pick you up at your door.

We'll be out on Saturday handing out leaflets to people informing them about the rally. We don't have an advertising budget--we have to spread the word on a one-to-one basis.

That's why we need your help. We need you there on Sunday. And we need your help spreading the word about the rally the next two days.

It's not for the benefit of the chapter. We're tired and we're tapped out financially. After organizing four rallies and numerous demonstrations and counterprotests since September, 2001 in support of America and our troops, we're beat. But we're pushing ahead because we believe the troops deserve, at the very least, a strong public show of support as they go into harm's way. Please come to the Lincoln Memorial this Sunday. It's important.

Details about the rally can be found by clicking here.

Lurkers can e-mail me at kristinn@verizon.net with any questions or comments.

Yes, prayers for the families of those lost. It breaks the heart to hear about these losses and then see/hear about the lowlifes in LA & SF spitting on their dead bodies. Sure makes one lose their religion. God be with you guys Angel. I hope you get a good turnout. I know how hard you work for these rallies. I've about run myself to death the last two days pulling this one together single handed.

Bump for you, WVNan. We've both been busy and totally lost track of each other for now. See you again on the flip side of the war. {{{WVNan}}}

Wow, it's nice to watch our boys live on FOX news get stopped in Iraqi on their drive north simply because they need to get out and stretch their legs have miles of unimpeded driving. It's like a scene out of Lawrence of Arabia.

...Make a copy of this and play it this weekend at your rally.

Hear a peace activist face a tough question from an Iraqi.

This is great. Listen to this airhead refuse to answer the question posed to her by an Iraqi who is for the war while she is a antiwar type.....

Sounds like a lot of the democrats and liberals.

A peace activist on a radio program is unable to answer a question posed to her by an Iraqi caller. Hilarious, and very telling.

Yeah, but the Worker's World Party is just a group of a few people in NYC domestically. If they've got $ to fund this stuff, you best believe it's coming from their foreign government sponsors.

Which would explain why ANSWER keeps having someone from North Korea's "Ministry of Truth" on stage at these rallies.

I think it's great that you're doing one Saturday in Martinsburg, WV. I'll be too busy leafletting here in DC that day to come, but I'd love to come to one of your rallies some other time. Great that you've started the chapter!! That's not "abandoning" us: that's building on success. :)

Your welcome, FTH. I've had the news on for over 30 straight hours now. Fortunately, I work at home with no one to tell me otherwise. I hope that you are feeling better. We've got the start of a rally going for the 30th up here and one speaker is a 14 year old girl who has future FReeper written all over her. I'll be meeting her on the 30th and signing her up. Take a lookie at her website: Oops. Now I can't find it. I'll get back to you on that. If you like her, maybe we can loan her out to the DC chapter. ;-)

Wow. Kristinn, Badray's right. Some day we've got to "borrow" this girl as a speaker:

"30th, huh. I owe you guys a trip, as I recall. :)"

As I recall, it's a trip to Hawaii. ;-)

We'd love to have you join us. Let me know if you do come up and need directions. The site is just about 5 minutes off the PA Turnpike exit. I guess I can arrange to open a Pittsburgh version of Taxman's FReeper Motel and Flophouse.

I am not able to do any organizing work at this moment, unfortunately, but I'm wondering if WMAL and some of the Christian radio stations would publicize the rally or do interviews to publicize the rally.

A great place to hand out flyers would or hold signs advertising the rally would be near (not too near!) gates to the military installations.

Best, best, best of luck. Thanks, Kristinn, for your good work.
