In Austin, Texas a prominent BBQ place, Rudy's, says to bring in something french (wine primarily) and dump it out and destroy it and you get $10 worth of free BBQ and some sause!! Now some socialist people I know are boycotting Rudy's. Let's DOUBLE their business!!

Rudy's...the best BBQ chain in the state. MMMM! I was planning on taking my parents there tonight anyway...and now I've got even more motivation!
I wonder if the San Antonio Rudy's are doing the same thing...

This is really stupid. To bring in something French, you have to BUY it (or steal it, but in that case it is the American store that loses, not the frogs). Once you've bought it, the frogs don't care one way or another whether to consume it or destroy it. Hence all Rudy's is doing is encouraging people to buy French stuff. This is idiotic.
All this anti-frog hysteria is really disturbing.

I had business at Dell last year in Round Rock. We went to dinner there (was it on Rt. 29?) and I had a great time. Best barbecued brisket I've ever had.
I hope to go back some day. Maybe we can get a franchise up in RI.

AT LAST - A CONSERVATIVE ALTERNATIVE TO BEN & JERRY'S
Like millions of your fellow Americans, you enjoy ice cream but do NOT enjoy seeing your money funneled to wacko left-wing causes. We are not ashamed of America. We think it's the best country ever, and so we have set out to make the best ice cream ever! We asked Moxley's, one of America's premier producers of gourmet ice cream, to help us create a line of tantalizing flavors from their award winning recipes, and to spare no expense in the selection of ingredients or preparation process. The result is Star Spangled Ice Cream, an exquisitely delicious hand-crafted super premium ice cream featuring a smoothness, texture and taste you simply cannot find in stores. We invite you to sample it and see for yourself! And when you serve Star Spangled, you serve your country, because we proudly donate 10 percent of our profits to charities that support the men and women of the US Armed Forces.

Will my VHS copy of "Druids" count? It's really a lame movie, the hero looks and acts like "Joe Dirt".

Presumably, you would be bringing in something that you had already puchased and want to show France where they can stick it. Only dullards would think to protest the French by actually buying fresh French Foo-Foo Fecies to destroy.

Rudy's barbeque is very good and worth going to, anyway. But do not confuse it with Ruby's, with a "b." RuBy's is an overrated counterculture place.

Oh man I miss that place! I think there used to be one up here in the D/FW area, but these people up here don't know what real bbq tastes like and it ended up shutting down. I have yet to find a local one that I'll eat at regulary like I did Rudy's, Green Mesquite and County Line when I lived in Austin.
BTW ... Folks, don't go out and buy something French. If you already have something (God forbid) take that and dump it.

I respectfully disagree.
My wife has Chanel perfume.
I do not like the smell of Chanel perfume.
I do like the smell and taste of Rudy's BBQ.
I break the Chanel perfume, ensure my wife becomes well perfumed (by having standing next to the smoke at Rudy's), eat wonderful BBQ AND save $10.
This is a win-win-win situation for me. I am positively hysterical with joy at the prospect.
