TROOP PRAYER THREAD

Over the last several days we have been seeking to compile a list of troops for whom we may pray. Now that formal hositilities have formally resumed with Iraq, we feel it appropriate to start a new troop prayer thread.

We have many fine young men and women known to us here at FreeRepublic.com serving in the Army, Navy, Marines, Airforce and Coast Guard. Several on our troop list to date actually are registered in the forum, and have become known to us personally among the constellation of Freepers.

We invite everyone, active Freepers and Lurkers alike to join our circle in prayer for these fine men and women who have volunteered to place their lives on the line for the defense of our nation and for the liberation of the oppressed peoples of other nations. To them we send our greatest respect and gratitude. We send them our prayers and good thoughts. We ask for God's blessing upon them and their families.

For those of us who have somewhat limited computer capacity, we request that graphics be limited to pictures of loved ones for whom we are offering prayers. Thank you.

Gosh I haven't a clue. You might want to check with TEXOKIE. She was in on the groundfloor of this and would probably know better. I do know the one consideration is the heavy gifs. Many folks have computers which don't do well with them and can't view the threads. I think we're pretty safe here so far. :-)

Hello, TEXOKIE! Dubya provided link to "God Bless the USA" by Lee Greenwood (post #72) and of course I sang along LOUDLY and still am playing it over and over in my head. :-)

Hubby and I erected a make shift flag post in the yard last night; flag flying off porch post just didn't do it. And we went into town this morning in search of car flags by the way, and were so disappointed to see only a few vehicles displaying Old Glory. :-(

FReepers, let's fly our flag with gratitute and pride!

PS: I do thank God to be living here today and be part of this great people called Americans. I am so blessed beyond what I deserve.

As everyone knows, it appears we have lost some of our troops today in a chopper crash. My prayers for their loved ones, and for all of our armed forces.
I found myself stopping several times today to offer prayers for all of them, our nation, our leaders, and the innocent civilians of Iraq.
Extra special prayers for the loved ones of our freepers, especially OhioWfan's Eric, who we have all sort of adopted as our own.

Thank you amom and TEX! God bless you many folds for all you do. Our troops and their families appreciate you.

I pray that You bring comfort to the families of our brave soldiers who gave their all today in the helicopter crash. I pray that you receive their souls and embrace them, for they have completed their mission here on earth and came to be with You.

I have my car flag flying. Not many around here with them, but I have not seen any in the stores lately.

Eve and me live in the country on top of a hill and the road runs in front of our place. We have a 30 foot flag pole with the USA and Marine flag on it. I just lowered it to half mast. People can see it for miles and its the only road around here.

If the flag get tatterd or we don't have it up people we don't even know bring a new flag to the door and give them to us. Aint people great?

Oh yeah..... Especially country folks. We live in a rural area too.

Amen, Kim. I'm posting this some time after your initial post about the downed helicopter. Is my understanding correct that the lives we thought were lost actually werent?

How is that for answered prayer? PRAISE GOD!!!

Walmart didn't have any left, but the Academy stores had plenty of car flags. (Think Academy is Houston based??)
