Key Bridge Wash DC Blocked
Physical observation on site in Arlington highrise in Rosslyn ^ | March 20 2003 | self

Posted on 03/20/2003 5:39:52 AM PST by muawiyah

Arlington Police and fire have blocked off Lynn Street and other streets in vicinity of Key Bridge. Looks like hundreds of police on the scene. So far no word on what precipitated the event, but this hasn't happened before.

Arrests have been made.

Maybe somebody will remember where these criminals were stashed once this phase of the war is over and bring them several buckets of hearty grub.

Are they still on the bridge?

Why not hose them down with water, then block off the bridge?

If they want to be there, fine. Then have helicopters hover above them to really chill 'em off.

If the protesters become uncomfortable, they will screanm to get off, kind of like the yellow-belly human shields that went to iraq.

The word yellow gave me another idea. Hose them down with water that has dark yellow dye in it. That way they can be identified later for the smut they are, and arrested at the cops leisure!

Is it in poor taste to wear a New York Yankees ball cap if you never played for the New York Yankees?

GO for it, wear the hat with pride, the 101st are "your team!"

If asked if you served in the 101, just say, "no, but my friend is with them over there." That's fine, no problem.

BTW, can you put up a link to that site? nice looking hat!

I don't want real veterans to get pissed off if they ask me if I served and I say no.

A honest question, and here is a honest answer.

Your hesitation to don a hat like this is correct. Some vets would indeed be offended. Try to find something more generic, like support the troops or general patriotic stuff.

The guys in the 101 are very proud of their units, as are all Navy about their boats.

Your hope is accurate :)

But, the comment usually goes over the head of the democrats I know. Ignorance must be bliss for them.

Our Sheriff Joe Arpaio can take them in and let them live in his tent city jail. No AC in the summer, pink underwear and other assorted goodies. Oh, and conservative talk radio piped in, too.

Here's the link. Link to Hat

Thanks for the thoughts. Wirestripper responded as well, and now I'm not sure if I will order one or not. The last thing I want to do is upset a veteran!

Personaly, I would not be offended. I find that T-shirts and underwear emblazened with the flag, (a improper display) usually gets my goat.

I have some vet friends that do get offended when they find these sorts of things. Why take the chance? A unit hat usually will prompt a question from a former serviceman, and if you feel comfortable answering the question, then fine. But, I would not wear a Navy hat, as I am army and vice versa. It is a pride thing, and the huge number of lying sacks of -----that say they were in Nam and served when they did not have spoiled many attitudes.

Oh go ahead and wear it with pride, just don't claim to be a member when you are not. I wear a NYFD hat every day, and I have never touched a fire hose! I just wear it to show support.

This used to be an issue with me as a former frogman (SEAL). We used to get upset when folks wore t-shirts and hats with the SEAL "Trident" logo on them. That's all passe. Now we just assume that anyone wearing the logo is a supporter or friend or familiy member.

Go for it, wear it with pride, they are "your team!"

I never had a problem with anyone wearing a GI logo shirt or civilian Basebal cap. My only big itch comes from civilian LEO's who adopt SEAL/EOD/Airborne Qualification badges "officially" as part of their uniform. Prior service qualified and earned no problem. If ya never earned the budwiser, crab or lead wings in service then don't wear em as a civilian LEO.

It tells of ones real morals IMO.

Wear those caps and tee-shirts with pride and tell folks why ya like em loud and clear.

HUA !!......Stay Safe !

Agreed on your sentiments re-SEAL tridents appearing on items. Hey if it was just former team members then no would would bother making them for low cost.
