Over my head, as well, to be honest. I was hoping some of the technical experts here on FR could help. However, the second article I sent you is a little clearer.

Yes, these are much more difficult to hit than SCUDs. I don't think the amount they have has been disclosed, though.

I confess my ignorance. Maybe some more knowledgeable about their cache will respond.

I agree...it is going to be one of those "like crap through a goose" maneuvers with the Iraqi's suffering heart attacks trying to catch up with ours scouts to surrender.

Actually, a movement like that will place the bypassed Iraqi forces in danger of becoming the Scud suckers. I don't think that the Scuds can be retargeted that fast.

You essentially got it. The Scud is a ballistic missile that exits the atmosphere. The Moskit/Sunburn (it's Russian in orgin, BTW) is essentially a much-faster version of the Harpoon with a slightly larger conventional warhead that can operater at either low or high altitude.

In Baghdad, Iraqi Information Minister Mohammed Al-Sahaf said he had heard a report that U.S. forces had downed a Scud. "But we don't have Scud missiles," he said.

Sure, pal
