'To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the Presdient, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.'
President Theodore Roosevelt

My wife tells me that , last night, "evil" Simon Cowell, on American Idol, told one of the contestants that she should replace a certain person on the Dixie Chicks.

FYI, just spoke to my Sister in Houston. She says people there are DEFINITELY PO'd at the Pixy Stix. :)

Of course I meant the god loving bluegrass pickin early Texas Chicks playing 270 shows a year, not the socialist Arena Pop chicks of today.

Teddy Roosevelt was on the most hawkish presidents of the US ever. He was also a roughrider (reminds me of the word "cowboy").
To: RummyChick
Now, there's a good idea!! I may have to consider that one seriously. :)

You poor stupid fool. No one is denying you your freedom of speech. We are only saying we find your shame of our President to be disgusting and that we are so disgusted with you we will not choose to enrich you further.
Speak and/or croon all you want, no one will take that right from you. But don't expect us to spend a scheckel on your 'art' when the very thought of you is reminiscent of your putrid opinions.
P.S. I know your creepy manager lurks here and will get these words to you.

The link in post # 30 is still active, but it appears that the message board is locked down and no "guestbook" comments after 3/18 are posting.
To: newgeezer

I went right to the index page and the comments window opens.

Dear Natalie, if you feel so strongly about your "embarassment" about President Bush, you should stand by your comments and be willing to live with the consequences of your "free speech."
These crybaby liberal Clymers think they're really tough with their "free speech"--until someone else exercises their free speech rights in response.("But I want to say whatever I feel like saying and not have any consequences!!!!!")
(I can see where Natialie got the inspiration for her song, "White Trash Wedding" on the latest CD.......)

This is the first I've heard of the other two saying that. Have they made an official statement? Tried doing a search on the chicks and just came up with a bunch of promo sites. Except one that was VERY interesting. It had her ENTIRE 1st apology. All I had seen before was the first paragraph. It was in no way an apology at all once you read the whole thing. She basically rips conservative artists. Have you read it?

I left her this little message.
In case you are unaware, it is considered very bad form to criticize your government on foreign soil.
It is also considered arrogant to do so and claim that you are speaking for a group (i.e. the State of Texas) when you obviously do not.
If you had made your statement in Texas I would have still disagreed with you but I would not have considered you a coward. As it is, you are a back stabber. Not quite in the same class as Jane Fonda but close.
You have the right to your freedom of expression. So do I.
I will never again buy any sort of product that is associated with you. Any company that associates with you will be informed of this. I will actively campaign to prevent people from buying those products.
This is my freedom of expression.

Go to her guestbook and read the comments! OMG it's funny. I hope she has a good support system around her because she is being trashed.

Politicians go into their career knowing that people will actively oppose them, and they may not get elected. I don't think entertainers go into their careers with the thought that people will actively try to get others to NOT buy their product, they strive to have a product that people will like enough to buy. There is a difference.

It's up again...
BTW: How do you read the comments without logging in?
