'To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the Presdient, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.'
President Theodore Roosevelt

What did old teddy say about going overseas and insulting the country? cowardly? Criticism one thing, hurling insults for applause is quite another.
chicks look like roasted turkeys and they know it. Their songs suck.

FR has finally gotten to her.
What? Maines didn't think anyone would hold her accountable for her callous and idiotic remarks? Oh, the shame! Heh, heh.

Well, we all see just how sincere her apology was ... but her sense of entitlement hasn't dimished one bit.

Why do people care so much about what some musician has to say?Because many people actually get their world view forged by celebrities. How many people protested Vietnam in the 60s simply because their favorite rock musician came out against the war? Janeane Garofalo is right on one thing, many people base their political views based on what is "hip," and what is hip is largely defined by what celebrity says. The good news is that this is changing and celebrity dolts are being exposed for what they truly are.

What a quote to try to cover her a$$!
There is a difference in disagreeing on principle with the President. No one is saying she cannot disagree. I disagree wholeheartedly with the President on education and immigration. But I still have great respect and stand behind him in his decisions. I don't go to London and declare I'm embarrassed he is from Texas. This ditz still can't see the difference. What she did is comparable to a child calling names on the playground. Grow up Natalie.

I totally agree with the T.R. quote. It is her right to criticize the President, even on foreign soil, if that's her heart's desire.
No one should question whether she has the right.Likewise, it is our right to express our disapproving of her with a boycott. It is every radio station owner's right to do the same, if he so desires.
She's entitled to her opinion, and we're entitled to ours. It's as simple as that.

I care about her comments as much as I do the Beach Boys' opinions.

Why do people care so much about what some musician has to say? Why do people care so much about the profession of a traitor?
