[history]
Republican lawmakers railed against Sen. Tom Daschle Tuesday after the Senate minority leader said that President Bush's diplomatic failures had forced the United States to go to war with Iraq.
"I was disappointed to see Senate Minority Leader Tom Daschle's comments regarding the upcoming military action in Iraq," House Speaker Dennis Hastert, R-Ill., said in a statement. "Those comments may not undermine the president as he leads us into war, and they may not give comfort to our adversaries, but they come mighty close."

Here's what I left:
Your comments today were disgusting. Your attitude toward our president and my husband's commander in chief is so blatantly partisan as to make one ill. In comparison to your support of Bill Clinton when he went up against Saddam Hussein, your agrandizing now is hypocritical at the least.

E-mailed him, the South Dakota newspapers, Rush, Drudge, Fox News, CNN and the RNC to encourage a better defense. Contrast Daschle's remarks in 1998 and Clinton approved the Iraqi Liberation Act which endorsed regime change:
Daschle: "Look, we have exhausted virtually all our diplomatic effort to get the Iraqis to comply with their own agreements and with international law. Given that, what other option is there but to force them to do so? The answer is, we don't have another option. We have got to force them to comply, and we are doing so militarily."And what is Daschle saying now? Daschle says that hes .. saddened that this president failed so miserably at diplomacy that were now forced to go to war. Wow, thats quite a switch from his Clinton era pronouncements, isnt it? Daschle goes even further. He is getting on the bandwagon early to lay the blame squarely at the feet of George Bush for any fatalities American troops may suffer. Daschle doesnt blame Hussein for failing to live up to his agreement to disarm. He blames Bush for responding to Husseins failures and threats.

It is "brazen and political" for a party chairman to be responding to a national security issue with "with such divisive and political language," responded Daschle spokesman Jay Carson. "I know you are, but what am I?"
Typical response from a class A twit.

"Is Tom Daschle the official Democrat hatchet-man or just a taxpayer-funded pundit?" asked House Majority Leader Tom DeLay, R-Texas. "Fermez la bouche, Monsieur Daschle."Gotta love DeLay!!
Can anyone here from SD let us know about the home state reaction. Any chance this is getting wide spread play and may heard him politically?

Did you notice who he was speaking to when he said this?
The AFSCME is an active participant/supporter of Ramsey Clark's ANSWER movement. Many members of this commie outfit signed his petition shortly before we went into Afghanistan and you can see their signs all over the place at these "peace protests". It seems Mr. "I'm an ex- soldier myself" has no problem badmouthing the Commander-in-Chief in front of rabid anti-military groups.

Maybe you would like to add Senator Dung-Heap Harkin to the list. He was just as bad. He now wants to retract his vote because he voted for the war but has since changed his mind....(read: Hillary Clinton explained my troubling vote and has this brain storm that we should trash Pres. Bush over this war in case it goes terribly wrong and we can win a few more seats).

I heard Rush say he was speaking to a UNION but these people are the epitome of "big government" liberals. They wouldn't even have any of the "hard hats" who otherwise would have forced "Puff" to temper his comments. What a disgusting toad this little man is.

Dasshole:
"Let me just simply say, as a veteran, there is no question that I stand strongly with the troops, I always will."
The same very attitude and spirit that caused Al Gore to put out an offical Dim-o-Rat party memo aimed at denying our U.S. Servicemen and Women the right to absentee vote in the 2000 Presidential Elections is the very same attitude and spirit at work in Dasshole.

Do you have documentation of that? It would certainly put the outbreak of cities and local governments passing anti-war resolutions in a whole new light. That would mean the first line of our defense for homeland security and first response to a terrorist attack is deeply inflitrated with the fifth column.
