DeLay: Fermez La Bouche, Monsieur Daschle; Democrat Hatchet-Man or Taxpayer-Funded Pundit?

WASHINGTON – House Majority Leader Tom DeLay (R- Texas) today expressed his lack of surprise at Senate Minority Leader Tom Daschle's (D-S.D.) second-guessing of our commander in chief on the eve of war with Iraq.

“Is Tom Daschle the official Democrat hatchet-man or just a taxpayer-funded pundit?” DeLay asked.  “Fermez la bouche, Monsieur Daschle.”

Yesterday, Daschle said at a political event, “I'm saddened, saddened that this president failed so miserably at diplomacy that we're now forced to war.  Saddened that we have to give up one life because this president couldn't create the kind of diplomatic effort that was so critical for our country.”

DeLay has taken a leadership role in foreign affairs through his work to expand freedom and his articulation of democratic principles.  The Iraq resolution authorizing President Bush to use force against Iraq passed the House in October 2002.

I'd prefer Daschle stay as Minority Leader. He'll do more to consign the Democrats to further minority status in the Senate than someone more intelligent and reasonable.

I found it interesting that after Bush' speech last night, the Sen. Dems trouted out Evan Bayh to be on with O'Reilly, arguably the Democrats' most agreeable and moderate face.

Daschle is not going anywhere -- look at Bill Clinton for examples of RATs with no conscience -- but sure feels good to pull his chain and demand that he resign as Minority Leader.

Now don't get me started....agreeable, moderate face. Maybe, but only if you realize the Bayh is two faced. Says one thing and then does what ever the east of the party tells him to do. I'm sure he faces NY's hill several times a day and bows.

SOme of us in Indiana have learned to listen VERY carefully when Bayh speaks. It's meaning is seldom what you think he is saying.
