My husband is soon to be deployed...and the Dixie Chicks are the frustrated ones??? On their website they cite their rights as Americans to freedom of speech...well I am going to use my right of freedom of purchase....
I don't go around and debate my politics at work...I don't know why celebrities think that they should!!!!

We even got an Irran, Texas, out in west of San Angelo. And Paris and Athens, and even a Los Angeles, TX (pop 140)

Shucks, we even got our own Air Force.
Right now as we speak, they is a flying over Paris delivering our response to their chicken-livered ways!

Thanks, Afronaut. There are "entertainers" who do support the President and the Troops and who are "real".
All I know, is that I was out in the "Sandbox" for 4 months. That is a short time compared to guys who been out there for 7 months in Desert Shield. I know from experience what the Troops are facing out there...and I can tell you...it is not a trip to Disneyland.
In the next few weeks, it will start warming up(if it hasn't started already). It is HOT. PRAY, PRAY for the Troops!

Didn't Visa pull the TV commercial over his remarks, where he and his son are at the video store waiting for ID approval? Somewhere (here?) I thought I read that.......
To: GoldHorde

Oh fer cryin' out loud, I have a horrible migraine....forget the link but Visa denied it!
To: countrydummy
Whoo Hoo Travis!
I don't think an apology is good enough especially since I don't believe it is sincere.
Giving aide and sympathy to the enemy is not something I take lightly, and that is exactly what those remarks did, especially since she said them in another country.

I find it ironic that it's ok for some celebrities to voice their opinions while most are excoriated for it. Irony is lost on most freepers. You can also check how long I've been a member and know that I'm not a dreaded "disruptor."

no, I did not think you to be a disrupter! I just was not sure what you were saying. In text without the help of emotioncons it can be tuff!
Now with that said, everyone has a right to say anything they wish, but they should also be ready to know there may well be folks that do not agree with them!
To: Sid Rich
Sid, get it straight. It's not that we don't think it "ok for some celebs to voice their opinions", it's the content of the opinion that we disagree with.

No doubt people have the right to say what they want and others have the right to disagree and not buy their records, nor watch their tv shows. I have seen the opinion expressed by many conservatives (including many on freep) that celebrities (but only the "bad" celebrities) should shut up and not state their opinions.

I truly like your Thompson, you need a 100 round drum mag though! There's probably a couple in the closet under the other junk he could use.

I saw Tritt in concert last summer. He gave Mr. Clinton a whack and then caught Hillary with the other hand.
My sweetie would drop me in a heartbeat if Tritt called her, but so far, so good.
