[history]
Clambering amid the foliage a hundred feet above the ground, lumber company climbers on Monday snapped a harness around a defiant anti-logging protester, cut through the metal sleeve binding her to the redwood's trunk, and lowered her to the forest floor.

I see you posted this first. This was the first time I didn't do a search beforehand and look what happens.

I didn't do a search first and now we have a
duplicate. My fault. The other thread was first but this one has more posts. Your discretion which one to lock down.

OK, let me see what some people are saying. That the people who've actually given of their time and energy to try to save 1000 year-old trees are wrong, and the folks who want to make picnic tables out of these ancestors are right. Well, I'm glad I'm not you. What a mindset to live within, where the only living beings on earth are human (and probably only one or two kinds of human) and all other "things" which others consider alive are objects. Geez, just imagine for a minute what it's actually like to live in a mindset where these things have life within them! Scary, huh?

You are entitled to your opinion. I respectfully disagree. And I'm glad you're not me, too! I like me.

Those trees are private property, 'ya green weenie! It's not against the law for the owner to cut them down. Besides, if they are YOUR ANCESTORS, that's all the more reason to chop them down.
Why don't you fags go sit in trees in Brazil? I'd like to see that! Those people are quite used to shooting monkeys out of trees.

he posted in another thread some other dribble, and was promptly caught and banned, in part thanks to the post here (nice pattern he had, all 3 or 4 post he had, all in the last few days)

Good work. You lie up to your screen name very well.
One question. Make that two. It said he signed up 9/01/2001. Can you fake your sign in date? Or was he a sleeper?

LOL, thanks! What a maroon. Trees are his ancestors . . . LOL!

That logger in the second picture looks like he might be a tad stupider than the tree sitters.

Every time I read about these pathetic people I am further amazed that they cannot find any meaningful purpose in life other than to protect a tree.
Americans are desperate for a cause worthy of their life's devotion, and protecting a tree isn't it.
To: farmfriend
The activists claim aggressive logging has filled riverbeds with silt, damaging the watershed and endangering local residents. And just who would those "local residents" be? -other than, of course, the tree sitters.

"That logger in the second picture looks like he might be a tad stupider than the tree sitters." Bwahahaha!
That's the loggers version of driving through a Redwood with the family sedan. This guy is in no danger, he's just illustating the size of the tree, by laying in the undercut. The "undercut" keeps the the tree from kicking back, or "barber-chairing" It also helps the faller direct the fall of a tree, towards the other direction. I've seen fallers drop trees dead on a mark. BTW, my brother is a logger.

I'll take your word for it, but you still wouldn't ever find me in that position. It just doesn't look safe.
