Valley Forge Report

Posted on 03/16/2003 4:35:38 PM PST by abercrombie_guy_38

Here's my report at the Rally for America at Valley Forge.

My group arrived around 12pm at the Freedom Business Complex parking lots and found that there were already at least a thousand people waiting in line for the shuttle buses. At first, there was only ONE BUS moving people along, but after an hour, organizers got at least four more. The transportation organization was hideous! Glenn should have held the rally in Philadelphia, not a suburb, so that public transportation could have been put to good use.

While I was waiting in line for an hour and a half to actually get to the rally site, thousands of people arrived within that time period and, as I was leaving on the bus, hundreds more were lining up. It took forever to get from the parking lots to the rally site, and my bus load had to walk about .5 of a mile from a post office parking lot to the actual rally site.

There were actually two rallies because thousands of people could not attend the one at Freedoms Foundation because it would have been filled beyond capacity. The second rally was held at the Freedom Business Complex. The rally at the Freedoms Foundation was awesome! One police officer estimated the crowd size at the two rallies was more than 15,000 people.

There were dozens of reporters from television and newspapers. All of the local Philadelphia and Harrisburg news stations were there, whether on the ground or in the air. Newspaper reporters were stopping people to ask questions. My dad told me that NBC 10 and Action News gave good coverage, actually putting the rally at the top of the list at 6pm.

All in all, it could have been a lot better since thousands of people were left out to dry to have their own rally, but they made the best of it by marching down Gulph Road, a busy highway. Transportation arragements could have been MUCH better. I waited 2 hours after the rally ended at 3pm to get back to the car to leave.

I'll post my pics later!

Can't wait to see the pics!!! :o)

GREAT job!! Also, Fox News just did a blurb on the pro-America rallies. I missed all of it though.. I only caught the last few videos. But I hope someone keeps it up..and explains WHO, WHY and WHAT are sponsoring these anti-war rallies around the world. The truth really needs to come out!!

Thanks again..and we'll be watching for the pics!!

FRegards, Vets

One thing is very obvious when you compare photos of the pro-America rallies with the anti-America ones --- we're so much cleaner and better looking...

More polite too. I've never seen such a civilized bunch of people stuck in a traffic jam. Despite the miserable traffic situation (nearly an hour at the toll barrier), I didn't hear any swearing and could count beeps of the horn on the fingers of one hand. Nice crowd.

I left cleveland at 2 AM .. to get there by 9.. well Murphy helped me & I got there at 10. parked at girl scout lot.

We had same mess in cleveland..narrow arteries leading to venue. many people gave up & went home (waited too late to start out)

Your help on thread with directions helped me tremendously. I have never been to your area.

My dog & I found lots of friendly people & other pooches to sniff (he sniffed not me!) (city of brotherly love?) ..

This was my third rally. What impressed me was (along with all your other comments...) how CLEAN the venues are at close...people just don't trash the place. I enjoy talking to the law enforcement people before & after. Usually before they are quite apprehensive .. I have heard each on has many "threats".. but all said they had FUN during the rally & enjoyed it.
