What a beautiful spring morning!!! And a bit different attitude from the reporters!!! Finally, the newspapers are getting the idea that both sides of the Great Debate need to be printed. Week, after week, after week, we have watched the reporters fawn over the peaceniks and completely exclude and ignore the other side. Today, the peaceniks are holding still another march for peace and some reporters actually came to our side to ask some in-depth questions. The reporter was respectful, although it was very apparent he had a strong anti-war bias. Well see what comes of it.
Additionally, we were honored to witness Tracy Della Vecchias interview with reporters and were able to speak with her. She is the lady who built the marine moms website as a support system for families of marines. I think more than marine moms are visiting the site, as she is getting 70,000 hits a day and she only started it at the end of February. Please check out her site at (MarineMoms.us). It was a wonderful experience listening to her speak. She is an incredibly articulate lady and handled the reporter with patience and dignity!!! We had a hard time, however dealing with our emotions as she told the reporter about how the head peacenik had accosted her the previous week while she was sitting in her car and told her that her son was a worse Hitler than President Bush because her son was a Marine! He is in Kuwait as close to the front line as one can get. It was difficult to watch her cry.
When a Palestinian woman came over to us to point out her disgust, Zip could only take her insulting statements so long, and finally thanked her for telling us how stupid we were to support our country and our troops. We also greatly enjoyed the lady who had a sign reading, What if Iraqs biggest export was broccoli. We were thinking about making a sign that reads Broccoli is Patriotic for next week, but when the broccoli lady came across the street to talk with us, she actually listened to what we said in return and we could tell she was digesting the concept of the horror biological agents being loosed upon the earth would cause. The broccoli may get a pass! She was probably the only person who has come to speak with us who actually was using her own brain when she dialogued. Usually, the dialogue is only a one-way street with the peaceniks regurgitating the hardcore Marxist propaganda they substitute for reality.
Seems there were so many high points this morning, it is hard to document them all. But, one huge and positive interaction was when a gentleman walked up and handed us a card of which the envelope read: Thank you for supporting the United States Troops. A scan of the card is below. It was hard to keep the tears in check after reading it. The appeasers will never understand the pride we have for our military or what they are willing to face to keep the world intact and inhabitable for us.
Am still having trouble with the server...once again no photographs.

Ping you guys! Sorry to be so late with this, but my server keeps going down. DogRobber said something about a signal booster or some weird thing. Hopefully we can get this cable serviced on Monday.

All your hard work over the last year is paying off! The troops are seeing this and the peace-niks are looking more stupid every day. Way to go Missouri FReepers!!

Pictures or no pictures, it was another fantastic day. Thank you, bsw, for your leadership and faithfulness in posting; and thank you, troops, for your willingness to put your lives on the line for us/American freedom. God bless America.

You're up a little late, aren't you? lol. I just got off work and thought I would check in to say THANKS to our military and see the report. Blue, that was a very good writeup. Thanks
I've got 6 commitments (from vets) to show up at the rally next Saturday. The only problem is 2 of them are Marines and they don't "suffer fools lightly" so I will keep them under my wing and away from the peacenik/hippy crowd.
Let us know what was in the letter as soon as the server accepts pictures etc.
Thanks to Prov and Dogrobber for keeping me calm (at least as calm as I can be) today. See you all next Saturday at Columbia and Jeff City.

As always, I appreciate your comments on your Freep.
I have finally had enough here in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
The anti-war ninnies have taken over our Freedom Corner built by veterans in one of our city parks. And today, I passed a group of them protesting along side our main highway through Cape, next to our Arena Park.
I am making my signs. I am going out, not to counter them, but to shout our cause.
This week, I am going to contact every organization I know to be for us, to ask them to join me in the streets.
If anyone reading is within reaonable driving distance of Cape Girardeau, Mo and wants to participate...please Freepmail.

It takes a little while for the community to notice BUT YOU WILL FIND OUT THAT THERE ARE MANY, MANY REAL AMERICANS OUT THERE TO CHEER YOU ON. Hang in there.
Thanks from a veteran and Infinite FReeper. Zip

Thought I'd better give a "Thumbs up" to you, Dogrobber, Shane, Bretmilk and his wife, and Prov3456 for being there today. It was a great day for our side.
The only question I have is "how many peaceniks showed up for their rally"? I know I counted 54 when I left and am sure the media will say 600, oh well.....

Hey Zip, when I get the paper this morning, I'll have to let you know how many showed up according to them. We know the truth! Also, kudos to Dogrobber and BSW for the sign campaign, I live out in the South part of town and have seen them popping up, it's really great to see them, even saw one on my street beside my own, that was a good feeling. I think, no I know, that almost all Americans support us and that the peaceniks across the street at the post office are a very small percentage. And Zip, those Marines should be easy to control at the Rally, they've been trained. (Just kidding, being Army, had to get a dig in).

I guess I should apologize to the print media. I thought they would boost the numbers by 1000 percent but they only boosted it by 830 percent. (I admit they could have had more come in the few minutes after we left and the "rally to show hatred of America" started, but 800 percent, I don't think so)

Before I left at 11 a.m. I counted the crowd size, and came up with 120. Granted, I may have missed some and more probably arrived after I left, but 450? I doubt it....
OTOH, with those kinds of numbers in print for a "peace rally," the newspaper may have trouble downplaying the actual numbers who show up at the capital next Saturday.
FReepers and patriots everywhere, come to the pro-America rally on Saturday, March 22, noon at the state capital in Jefferson City. See ya there!!!

Hey all..this is the "newbie" that came to the "counter-rally" at the Post Office. :)
Thanks to the lady who mentioned this website! This site is just awesome!
I got the Tribune this morning and I was just plain amazed how they got 500 or so people! Not at the Post Office there weren't! I didn't go to Flat Branch Park, so there may have been more. Where are all the Pro-Americans here in Columbia? Surely they are out there!?
To: GulfWar1Vet
Welcome to Our Gang. You will find out that this becomes fun watching the useful idiots across the street and their feeble attempt to persuade the public that black is white and white is orange.
I hope to see you in Jefferson City at noon Saturday (south side of capitol) for our Support our Troops rally. Again, welcome to Columbia's Infinite FReep.

America's Finest - The SpearTip of Freedom. (Photos of our deploying troops - share yours)
"The liberties of our country, the freedom of our civil constitution, are worth defending at all hazards; and it is our duty to defend them against all attacks. We have received them as a fair inheritance from our worthy ancestors; they purchased them for us with toil and danger and expense of treasure and blood. It will bring an everlasting mark of infamy on the present generation, enlightened as it is, if we should suffer them to be wrested from us by violence without a struggle, or be cheated out of them by the artifices of false and designing men." Samuel Adams
An air cushion landing craft passes an American flag as it carries U.S. Marines with the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit to waiting ships from Onslow Beach in Camp Lejeune, N.C., Wednesday March 5, 2003. More than 2,300 Marines and sailors deployed Wednesday.
