Pelosi Demotes Moran, Remains Silent on Kaptur

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi today forced out Rep. Jim Moran, D-Va., as regional whip of the mid-Atlantic region for his comments blaming Jews for war in Iraq.

But the Democrat hypocrisy continues. Pelosi and company still refuse to criticize or even comment on Rep. Marcy Kaptur's apologia for terrorism, and the pro-Democrat media establishment isn't pressing them one bit.

"I have taken this action because Congressman Moran's irresponsible remarks were a serious mistake," Pelosi said.

She said Moran has accepted responsibility for his remarks and expressed his "sincere regret."

And right on cue, Moran released a statement saying: "I stepped down from my leadership position today as a way to demonstrate acceptance of my responsibility for insensitive remarks I recently made. I will continue to reach out to the Jewish community and others who were offended by my remarks."

Moran, long controversial for a long series of scandals, said an appeasement forum March 1 at a church in Reston, Va., church, "If it were not for the strong support of the Jewish community for this war with Iraq, we would not be doing this."

Pelosi finally took action after six senior Jewish Democrats, in a letter to her, called Moran's remarks "grossly irresponsible" and said he should not run for an eighth term, CQ Today reports.

Moran said earlier this week that Jews were targeting him for defeat in 2004, and oh is he right. Jewish groups have already starting shopping for other Democrat candidates for the primary, according to wire reports.

Seeing as how Rep. MORON stood before cameras and said, "I probably don't belong up here in Congress," it's probably a fairly safe bet that he won't be running for reelection next year. All any opponent would have to do is run that clip.

What the heck is the regional whip.
This doesn't sound like much of a demotion.
Moran is going to lose his seat regardless.

If a Democrat makes a racist statement (against a protected group) it is grounds for dismissal from a leadership position. If a Democrat makes an anti-American statement, it means they are simply interpreting the party platform...

I would not be at all surprised if Moran was fired from a non-existent position.

Rep. Jim Moran, D-Va., regional whip of the mid-Atlantic region.

What kind of a job is this? Is he the man who handles the PAC-mules for the democrat party?

I read in another article that their are 24 regional whips. So this is the most minor of minor positions, and his demotion is the smallest slap on the wrist.

Just goes to show: You can be Pro-Osama ("Nice Daycare!" - Patty Murray) but not anti-Jew.

I've said this before (many times) and; I'll say it again: The rat media is losing it's ablity to dictate what is and what is not news. Think about this: Even as recently as a year ago moron's words would have never appeared anywhere but Newsmax and a few other conservative sites. Now it's everywhere and plastic nancy had to publicly wack him in less time than it took to bring down Lott. As to kaptur, well yes, some rats WILL still get away, the rat media can still shovel most of the evil donkey's shiite under the rug but; its getting harder every month. When their lie machine over loads and burns out, the evil donkey is toast!
