Have the other two made any statements yet about this controversy? Wouldn't it be cool if they would dump Maines from their act. In fact, I will pledge right here and right now to go buy their entire catalogue on CD and get a ticket to their next local concert if they would do so. I'm not holding my breath though.

Yeah her guitar technique could be described as amateurish at best. I saw footage of her playing and her picking technique was all downstrokes, an inefficient technique employed by those who eschew convention.

The other 2 are the ones that forced out their original singer in favor of Maines so that they could be more 'mainstream' and appealing ... the original singer was very talented and pretty, but just not as 'pop' as Maines ... watch the VH1 'Behind the Music' on them ... raw ambition that overwhelmed personal loyalties. They are reaping what they have sown.

Your remedy might have saved the careers of the two sisters IF they had said onstage immediately after Maines' rermarks that they disagreed with her. As it stands now, their silence means that they agree, and they will have to share Maine's fate.

The story of how they dumped their original singer because Natalie Maines was their producer's daughter is one of the sleaziest tales I have ever heard. It's why I have never been a really big fan of theirs.
