Prayer List of Our Troops
Several of us who have been meeting on the Yellow Rose of Texas prayer threads have been discussing the need that we have for a prayer thread devoted to our troops. Freepers can post names and pictures of their loved ones in the armed services here. We can post our prayers and best wishes for them and their families here in a central place.
We are in the beginning stages of planning the thread. Please, if you have a loved one, post his/her name or pseudonym below, along with a picture, if you wish, so that we can begin work.
Please ping your friends to this thread. We are trolling for names of our troops to pray for.
Thank you for your gracious and immediate response!

God Bless you, Mom. The post gave me chills. I pray for the safety of all the brave troops, their families and our friends around the world. Let us not forget the gallant UK and Aussie troops who are at our side.

Prayers went up for your nephew PFC Gyles and all others stationed in South Korea. Please relate my
heartfelt thanks to him for keeping the commies at bay over there.
amom and TEXOKIE,
Thank you both for keeping this wonderful thread going and for compiling the prayer list. :-)

Another prayer warrior who finally found this thread - signing up for duty. I've been praying through kayak/Brad's Gramma list twice daily. Have printed out this new list and will now commence praying through it twice a day - at Morning and Evening prayers.
I have another to add to the list -
Ensign Andy, US Navy - my cousin's son
And an update to "lurker friend, Pat's nephew, Ben" - we now know he is at Camp Doha, Kuwait. His Mother is really upset and not at peace. Please pray for his Mother, Tracy, to know God's peace and for salvation for both of them. It seems that he was in some previous action during the liberation of Afghanistan, and was scheduled to be stateside during this upcoming action. However, he volunteered for active involvement, went through additional training, and has been deployed.
Through the "adopt a Military member", I was given the name of LTC Andrew. He has been deployed as well - turns out my brother knows him, and he's a pilot. Please add him to the list.
Just found out a reservist from Church has been activated and deployed - don't know his rank but he's a Marine, and his name is Keith.
I've sent off 4 "goody" packages to others from the USO Canteen FReeper-style list here at FR, but will contribute to Keith's by taking in the new stuff I've bought - as my Church is going to collect the items, box it up and pay for the postage. This is a Godsend - I thought I was going to go broke mailing these packages, nevermind paying for the contents.
And BTW, Keith's list includes the usual - lip balm, sunblock, razors, underwear, socks, batteries (AA, D and C), body powder, deodorant, Baby wipes, power/energy bars, raisins. He also mentioned that he's had 2 pairs of sunglasses ruined by sandstorms, and to please send more, and, of course, the obligatory junk food. Just thought I'd emphasize those items if anyone else is putting together a package. He also requested fruit-flavored candy, as some guys are allergic to chocolate. Who knew?
Thanks for adding these guys to the list. Isn't it sad how much longer the list is getting - just amongst us?

Please see post #305 for this tribute to the Troops who have been called into Action.
Thank you amom for posting this inspiring list.
Sometimes we don't realize the magnitude of a situation
until we see the names of those who are involved.

Jehovah is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my rock, in whom I will take refuge; my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower. ~Ps 18:2
O ALMIGHTY God, the supreme Governor of all things, whose power no creature is able to resist, to whom it belongeth justly to punish sinners, and to be merciful to those who truly repent; Save and deliver us, we humbly beseech thee, from the hands of our enemies; that we, being armed with thy defence, may be preserved evermore from all perils, to glorify thee, who art the only giver of all victory; through the merits of thy Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen!
O LORD God of Hosts, stretch forth, we pray thee, thine almighty arm to strengthen and protect the soldiers of our country. Support them in the day of battle, and in the time of peace keep them safe from all evil; endue them with courage and loyalty; and grant that in all things they may serve without reproach; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen!
Please add to your lists our friends, Jimmy, Brian, Jon, Dustin and their families.

Requests
I asked for Peace-
My sins arose,
And bound me close,
I could not find release.
I asked for Truth-
My doubts came in,
And with their din
They wearied all my youth.
I asked for Love-
My lovers failed,
And griefs assailed
Around, beneath, above.
I asked for Thee-
And Thou didst come
To take me home
Within Thy heart to be.

Dear TEX,
I have another name to add now. Just found out that my nephew-to-be is shipping out tonight for Iraq. His name is Chris Kollhoff. Don't know all the details yet, but would you please add his name to the prayer list. Am sending this link to his dad and future step mom. God Bless you for all you do.

Thank you so much for taking the time to assemble this compilation of names. I can't tell you how good it is to have something to DO at this time. My little bit to hopefully help. I'm very glad folks find it useful.
May God protect the men and women in uniform who protect us.
Amen
