Wow... I can see how, if approved, this would definitely allow Sadism (whoops I mean Saddam) to keep this game going on for years and years...

Won't happen....yawn....he hasn't followed UN for 12yrs. We know why now, they don't back there resolve! This is definitly a turning point in our world as we know it! Consequences are going to come from this, both good and bad! I REALLY doubt, Bush isn't going to change his mind this time! Won't it be amazing to see (after the fall of bagdad) what these other countries are hidding?

Just saw straw on the tube. Don't know why he came out to speak. He didn't say jack, if you'll pardon the pun. And he seemed a bit squishy to me.

He's about as likely to wear a pretty frilly pink dress and sing "Mary Had a Little Lamb" in English on TV than agree to any of the above. Don't worry about the British, they're not going wobbly, they know Saddam won't agree to to the list.

He will agree. It will take him 2 months to write the speech for the TV. It will take him another month to get plane tickets for the scientists. He will then destroy a fraction of the chemical weapons while replenishing the supply in another part of Iraq.

you know,. the Brits are already over there now, and even if Tony Blair backs out...he could give the command to US over the British forces. Even then they would still be in it , just not politically.

He will admit to possession of an unmanned drone aircraft discovered by inspectors. There has to be more to it than this. He's not currently alleging that it's a drone left there by space aliens. Of course it's his.

I hear you -- this is the lamest possible position.
Now won't we have fun with the U.N. debating whether Saddam "has made substantial progress" in meeting the benchmarks...and that maybe he'd get there with just a little more time?
Blair's government has gone totally belly-up. All because of public opinion polls and a handful of ne'er-do-wells on their back bench started spouting off. Blair really is Clinton-lite after all.
This is just a recipe for further debate and delay in the U.N.
Time now for Bush to take this away from the U.N. Tomorrow night. Please.

What's the point? Haven't they figured it out yet? Saddam Hussein is a psychotic liar and the master of deceit.

This is so weak.
Should read: "He will destroy..." and "Mr. Hussein will complete..."

I posted this on another thread but it also applies here. What I heard Jack Straw was beyond my comprehension and frankly disgusted me so I wrote the following! Flame away if you want!
What I am about to say could get me flamed but I am going to say it anyways.
A little background here -- PM Blair had Clinton attend a retreat of his and his British Administration last year to discuss with the Labor Party how they can remain in power. Now keep that in mind -- Blair and Clinton are best friends. Think back -- Blair was fully on board with Kosovo along with Labor -- no United Nations.
I firmly believe that Clinton is standing with Blair right now and the delay, delay, delay has been part of that. I am tired of hearing how Blair has stood up -- tell me how -- wants another second resolution and wants Saddam to be on TV saying he is disarming. Give this person a break. Bill Clinton could have written Jack Straw's remarks I just heard. The date has slipped to 21 March and the goal line keeps getting pushed back. What is going to be the next date -- it is already back to 21 March with another ten days added on.
Blair believes that Saddam on TV is going to end his tyranny! That is so disgusting I am not sure I can keep from exploding.
Don't you people see the delay, delay, delay by the Brits that is symptomatic of Clinton.
What good is Saddam disarming if he stays in power. Blair has blinked and time for the United States to recognize that fact and for President Bush to go with his ultimatum and forget the *>*> United Nations once and for all.
We have allowed ourselves to get into this quagmire of the United Nations, allowed Blair to set the timetable, and time to get out of it.
What if Blair signed on with Pres Bush because he thought the might of the US could scare Saddam into exile but never thought we would have to go to war. Has anyone thought of that little detail. Now that Blair is faced with an actual war the Labor Party speaks out -- where have they been?
Honestly believe the Labor Party thought Pres Bush would blink and wouldn't have the fortitude to commit our troops to war to disarm Saddam. So the Labor Party let Blair stand with the United States, give his speeches, but something has changed! What changed, the President and the United States is going to liberate the Iraqi people with or without the UN or any other country!
My two cents -- flame away but I firmly believe that Bill Clinton is with the Brits on this stupid, idiotic 2nd resolution that delays the action even more pushing us into the much hotter weather.
