They could try putting an outspoken Conservative in the spot....I'd even pay good money to watch Ann Coulter take on HillBilly. Dole is a RINO and no match for Clinton. Perhaps their ratings will tank. I'll do my part.
To: kattracks
From what I heard on Larson Live Monday morning, Clinton just rehashed the same old tired Democrat Talking Points while managing to bite his lower lip a few times; Dole wasn't much better, coming off stiff as a board.
...Perhaps they should have pitted Slick Willie against Ann Coulter-now THAT would've have been fireworks!

I heard that Hewitt wanted Rush to go opposite Stainboy, but the impeached one vetoed that idea. Then it was going to be Newt Gingrich. clinton nixed that, too. clinton's a p**** at heart.

Hewitt criticized Dole by saying that it wasn't clear what he was talking about. As a committed liberal, Hewitt probably had difficulty stomaching the conservative argument. The simple fact is that we're fighting two wars- one abroad against terrorism and rogue nations, the second is here domestically where we're fighting a down economy. The way to do the latter is through economic stimulus by way of tax cuts. That's precisely what Dole said. If Hewitt has difficulty with this, due to senility or other reasons, perhaps 60 minutes should accelerate their transition and get a new producer.

Of course! Only going up against someone he knows he has beaten and could beat again. How very convenient!
The typical Democ'RAT way.

With an 11.6/20, "60 Minutes" was the night's highest rated program, winning the 7 p.m. hour for CBS
Maybe the novelty of the bent one will wear off over the next few weeks and the ratings will plummet, but I think 60 minutes always does good in the ratings.

The whole idea is PATHETIC.
As an x-president Clinton should be (ob)scene and not heard.
Dole should simply retire into viagra heaven.
What a disaster. What a disgrace.

Hewitt is a real gem. Dole could be room temperature and still win a debate with a perjurer, a suborner of perjury, an obstructor of justice, a facilitator of espionage, a rapist, a philanderer and on and on. Hewitt is appologizing for Dole not being up to a debate with Clinton. He should be appologizing for Clinton not being up to the level of just a common traitor. That being his only problem it might give him some credibility in some quarters. As it is, he has no credibility in any quarter. What sensibility of a person with even degenerate morals has Clinton not offended? Now Hewitt puts him on the tube.
What this is all about is Hewitt making a back door compliment to Clinton that Dole just wasn't up to Clinton's amazing debate style. Gag me Don. And ---- you for even considering this you... (I could go on, what would it matter) The Clinton circle of jerks offends me on every level.

"Clinton is Clinton - he's very smooth and there's no question that when he gets through, you know what he said," Hewitt said. Except for that word, "is". And because everything out of his mouth is a LIE!

What a disaster. What a disgrace. As was planned. I hated Alan Keye's program on MSNBC but if CBS was serious about hving a "debate" forum, Alan would have been an ideal sparring partner for Clinton but, that assumes that CBS really wanted Clinton challanged.
To: ETERNAL WARMING
I wanted Newt to lace the bent one. Hewitt knew whom to pick, to aid and abet the socialist creeps by serving up a weak opponent.

I don't think Dole really came to grips in the manner that he's famous for in his response to Clinton, and we're going to try to plug those holes."
Hewitt said Dole "knows he can do better - he called me and said, 'I don't think I was as sharp as I could have been.'
"Clinton is Clinton - he's very smooth and there's no question that when he gets through, you know what he said," Hewitt said. He only complains about Dole??
Why do I get the feeling this is a set up?
I can see the headlines now ..
The Big Bad VRWC attacks Clinton again

They should even things up, and put Dole against Gore. That would be fair. The current matchup is like night and day, like Hannity and Colmes!

I hope we won't hear that Hewitt will be Bill's intern.

If Hewett wants to improve the ratings, he should have Al Sharpton opposing Bill Clinton.
To: kattracks
Sheesh, OldBob is 149 years old - what did they expect?
They expected the old coot to be overmatched by the Slickmeister, and that's what they got.
OldBob "I need Viagra to get the blood flowing" Dole is exactly the image of anti-Clinton they want. And the Stupid Party didn't seem to object much, did it?
