Brunswick, Maine - Today, March 8th from 4-5 pm., one "Bald Eagle" circled overhead while dozens of supporters for US troops and President Bush waving flags and signs gathered on the town common. Drivers passing by showed overwhelming support by blowing their horns, waving and high 5's. Was an awesome sight!

Way to go, Maine!
We took part in a successful "Support Our Troops" rally today in Manchester, CT (organized by the Manchester VFW). We received absolutely overwhelming support from people driving by us also. It's so heartwarming! :-)

This was an e-mail we all received after the rally..much more eloquent than my post.
Subject: and the eagle soared
All,
Today we held our third weekly rally in support of America's military
troops. For those of us who live here in Brunswick, it was particularly
important for us to be there today. Just three short days ago we suddenly
lost one of the most important members of our community, Town Councilor Tom
Crimmins. Tom was important to us all not only as a Councilor, but as a
family man, a retired Major in our Maine National Guard, and citizen
extraordinaire. Tom was a consummate joke player, a person who worked
quietly and for the most part without public recognition for people and
causes he believed in. He was the most valuable person on our Town Council
for many reasons, not the least of which was his way of making sure that
people understood the long range results or consequences of how they voted.
Most of all, Tom was completely devoted to his family. These rallies were
important to Tom from both a military and a patriotic point of view.
Not long after people started to gather with signs and flags, an eagle
soared above and circled the area for several minutes before he disappeared.
Now eagles in downtown Brunswick are far from the norm, and those of us who
were blessed to know Tom felt sure that he had come to check up on us and
make sure that we had gone on with the rally as planned. We know that Tom
was with us in spirit and approved.
Thank you all for coming and for standing strong for America as Tom would
have wished.

One of our American Legion Brothers and his Wife went with their large "Don't Tread On Me" Rev-War Flag and took a couple of pictures - which we would post if they were up on an FTP.
I don't know if anyone got a shot of the Eagle though - that would have been awesome!

It wasn't a rally, but yesterday a pair of bald eagles circled over my neighbor's house (Bellingham, WA) for long enough for me to go inside for the camera and get a couple pictures. They must be out all over the country to remind us of what a great country we have. They are so majestic.

Way to go, Brunswick!
We rallied in Bangor yesterday for the second consecutive Saturday and will do so again next weekend.
Although it turned out to be a beautiful day, attendance was down a little because of a bad weather forecast.
Reaction from passersby at the mall was stronger than ever though and we likewise recieved loads of horn-honking, high fives and loud, happy shouts of support for our men and women in uniform.
Keep up the good work. It won't be long now before all the naysayers, anti-military kooks and Bush haters will be rendered impotent by events.

Does anyone remember the eagle appearing at a Bush Rally during the 2000 campaign? I think it was down in Florida, but I might be wrong. Anyway, the eagle sat on top of a lightpost during the rally. I remember seeing a picture of it on FR. It seemed to be a sign of victory for Bush.

Anti- war protestors are being asked to have signs supporting the military..as they are not responsible for their actions ..they are there only to obey orders. They were in the wrong place at the wrong time and under the Leadership of Bush.
To: fight_truth_decay
They're just going to p!ss more and more people off if they continue to characterize this as "Bush's War", IMO.
The question to ask is where were they when Billy Jeff Blythe was bombing the he!! out of everthing that moved? Bunch of libs and commies...Grrr!
