U.S. Rep. Marcy Kaptur said yesterday that not only does she not regret comparing Osama bin Laden to American Revolutionary War figures, shes happy for a greater platform to criticize the Bush administrations handling of the brewing conflict with Iraq.
Speaking to a group of Catholic clergy and lay people at All Saints Church in Rossford, the Democratic Toledo congressman said her views have been purposely distorted by Republicans and conservative talk show hosts who have been bashing her for three days.

I don't know whether to jump up and down at her stupidity or to pull my hair out at her ignorance!

Do neither. She will self-destruct on her own. Now that we have Fox News and other pro-right conservative organizations, they will flail her alive. Wait until even Democratic voters get to her during 2004.

She's happy for a greater platform ti criticize the Bush Administration. And that's the name of that tune. Democrats will always put "The Party "and the liberal agenda ahead of the Country.

OK, I went to the story in the Toledo Blade and read it from start to finish. Somehow I missed the part where Kaptur explained what her remarks really meant. She tried to say they were meant to be about the nature of revolution, but didn't explain further.
Therefore, I conclude that criticism of her statements has been accurate.

The local news was in my city last night interviewing people on this womans comments. None of them were happy about it and thought she was an idiot. Some of them said they'd remember her comments at the next election.
The problem is this area is such a democrat stronghold she can probably get away with it.
I mean, this is an area that elects Dennis Kucinich and sHerrod Brown.

Her only defense is that her statement is "being taken out of context." Here she is explaining what she means to someone at her own educational level.

I just wonder why we let women vote, hold office, serve in the miltary if this is the low level of brain activity we can expect.

Marcy Kaptur is a life-long resident of Toledo, Ohio, a member of Little Flower Roman Catholic Church, and a graduate of St. Ursula Academy. In 1968, Representative Kaptur earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in history from the University of Wisconsin. She received her Masters' Degree in urban planning from the University of Michigan. In 1993, Representative Kaptur was awarded an Honorary Doctor of Laws degree by the University of Toledo in recognition of her "effective representation of the community," of the University and of Northwest Ohio. St. Ursula Academy named Kaptur Alumna of the Year in 1995.Know your goofy opposition. Wisconsin undergrad and UM Urban Planning put her out there in utopian wonk land, but it doesn't really give her credibility on the international front.

I should post instead of giving her webpage hits!
"...My comments were intended to point out that what faces us is a rising revolution being felt across repressive regimes of the Arab and Islamic world. That revolution is aimed at casting off the existing order. Not to recognize the magnitude of the fervor that is being turned against America is to ignore the real enemy.
The American people understand the power of revolution. It is in that context that I referred to the American Revolution. World powers have been born out of revolution. Terrorism in the name of revolution is not acceptable. Ever.
It is not surprising to me that the Republicans have chosen to twist my words and silence any effort to understand the root of this threat."

Mentioning Kucinich and Herrod made me nauseous...the mention of Tubbs sent me running to the bathroom...

Here's the whole thing:
Washington, DC--The following is a statement by Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur.
It appears my statement has been purposefully taken out of context. Partisan political maneuvers, at this serious moment in history, serve neither America nor our quest to conquer this dangerous enemy of free people.

Is she really saying that people from one nation can have a revolution against the government and people of another nation? When did that action stop being defined as war and begin to be defined as revolution?
I suspect it's so only in the tiny brain of Marcy Kaptur.
To: KalDot
Its amplifying the democrats liberal position which is killing US Citizens.
I love it.

The American revolution aimed at freedom - freedom from a distant and uncaring master, freedom from an oppressive class system, and all of the freedoms that the Bill of Rights enumerates. It was not perfect, then or now, but it was then, and remains now, the best system the world has ever seen for the governance of imperfect humans.
The revolution advocated by the Kapturites is to destroy a thousand years of human progress, eliminate all of the hard won freedoms of every society that has progressed beyond the rigid theocracy they advocate, and to enslave all who will not bend to their will.
Yeah, that's really the same, isn't it? She swallowed her foot so far that she can still stand on both feet, and she is trying to pretend that everyone else got it wrong. But she is the one walking around funny, and we are the ones laughing at her.

I sent her an e-mail.....I told her it was time for her and her "SOCIALIST" progressive caucus to put down the crack pipe.
...then I told her that the present position of her head makes oxygen absorbtion almost impossible, so she doesn't have to take my advice about the crack pipe, if she can't correct the present position her air intake is in....
