Great time at the rally today! We began around 4:00 pm and had people jumping out of their cars and grabbing signs and American Flags. What a great freep! We had approximately 65 people on our side of the "aisle" compared to about 10 "peacenicks". Thanks goes out to David Chu (freeper) and his wonderful "LIBERATE IRAQ AND SUPPORT OUR TROOPS" signage,American flags, and photography, the Republican Womens Club of Santa Rosa were in force, many business people just getting off work in the downtown area joined us, and other patriotic Americans. People were honking in support of America and our troops and it was exciting to see the silent majority jump in and participate, and more to come next Friday. In addition, we had TV 50 the local news station! If it can happen in "lalaland" it can happen anywhere!!!

Nice to see some fellow Sonoma County folks out and about. Send them down to Petaluma to join my one man anti-"anti-war" protests every Saturday at noon by the arm wrestling statue. I could use a few more patriots!

"We had at least 70-80 cars honk and give us "thumbs up"."
Are you kidding, it was more like hundreds of people honking their horns in support of our efforts!!!

"Who was the guy handing out those great American Flag posters with the caption 9-11-01 "A Day of Remembrance"?"
Waiting for his email to me. Must have that guy next Friday!

"You can truly pat yourselves on the back. Give us more advance notice next time and you'll get 100 patriots."
I have a plan. See below post for more info. You better bring 100 patriots to SR next Friday as we are going to show something REALLY awesome in Santa Rosa next Friday (3/14) 4-6 in downtown Santa Rosa!!! Bring your flags and support our troops signs!!!

Big thanks must go the Eagle Forum of California (under the leadership of Orlean Koehle and Sharon Hughes), the Republican Party of Sonoma County (under the leadership of Bob Mathews and Laurie Robinson), and other groups (I don't remember their names) for showing up with last minute notices.
Here is my vision for our MEGA Freedom Rally next Friday (3/14/03), same place in Santa Rosa (starting on Santa Rosa Avenue between 3rd and 4th Streets, same times (4-6 PM).
We are going to form a "Freedom Ring" (more like a square block) covering the Courthouse block starting on Santa Rosa Avenue, going around to 3rd Street, continuing to B Street, and completing the "Freedom Ring" on 4th Stree--just like we marched on Friday around the block, except we are going to dominate the entire block with people carring US flags and "Liberate Iraq Support Our Troops" signs.
How about it, my fellow FReeper patriots and freedom fighters? This will give the "retreads" and anti-Americans a big fat headache!!! What a media event it shall be!!!
Please ping your lists and call all the Sonoma and SF Freepers to show up for our MEGA Rally next Friday (3/14/03) in Santa Rosa!!!
SF Freepers: please join us as we focus like a laser bump to piece through the lies and show the world that Freedom and Liberty is universal--even in the heart of Lalaland (Santa Rosa)!!!
Awesome pictures to follow later today.

It's a war to liberate Iraq? I thought we were disarming a madman. Or maybe fighting terrorism. Whatever it is, it is NOT to protect the economic interests of the US...or so I've been told...
To: Cacophonous
According to the peaceniks it is...
But there is no reason to believe US interests should be limited merely to economics.

But I would sooner support a war to protect economic interests than to fight:
1. A "war on terrorism". If the President were serious about the "War on Terrorism", he would do something about the sieve-like southern border, instead of offering amnesty to illegal aliens. I also am convinced that by backing Saddam into a corner, he will only launch his WMD at American troops or Israel.
2. A war to get rid of a madman. Primaruly because there worse madmen out there with a lot more capability and inclination to hurt us (North Korea). The best way to ensure Saddam is going to hurt us is to back him into a corner (like I said above).
3. As far as a war of liberation, there are a lot of oppressed peoples in the world; are we going to go to North Korea, China, the rest of the Mid East, Africa, S America...
Nah, the only thing that makes sense to me is the war for economic reasons, and I whole heartedly support it. But I keep getting told that it is not for those reasons, and that furthermore, I am un-American for thinking it.
This whole thing has taken on the air of an Abbott and Costello routine.

Come join us next Friday 4-6 in downtown Santa Rosa for a Mega Freedom Rally. Maybe then you'll catch the flame and get going in Palo Alto.

KBZ, Was there an announcement about Palo Alto's rally? Know that you can always post an announcement on FR to get the word out. And, if you ping me (and I'm on FR and see it) I'll ping my Bay Area list and maybe some FReepers can make your rally. Hope you had a good rally today.
To: cali5
Thanks for being there, wish I could have been there too! I hope everyone who wants to support our troops locally will join those wanting to show that 'Californians are not all a bunch of nuts.' Now we need to plan a weekend demonstration that promises to get big enough to get other TV channels to cover it. The SF channels would probably come to Santa Rosa if the group promises to be large.
