Today's Ari Fleischer Press Briefing: WHERE WAS HELEN?
The White House
| March 7, 2003
Posted on 03/07/2003 12:08:36 PM PST by Dont Mention the War
So several reporters (especially the WorldNetDaily loon, of all people) demanded to know why Queen Helen was not allowed to spew last night, and Ari gave the exact, factual answer: They were looking for REPORTERS last night, not columnists.
But more importantly, Ari himself did not call on The Old Hag today! Was he intentionally snubbing her? Or did she stay home and pout like a little girl instead of coming in to work today?

I checked...you are NOT a newbie Freeper, so why on earth would you think that questions were given to Bush??? Don't trust anything said by the person who told you that LIE....

>>As Ari said, she is no longer a reporter ..... she is now a columnist ...... and one who has stated that she's sick and tired of holding her feelings in so she's going to voice her opinion.<<
I'd have called her an 'activist'.

"Where was she? I heard she had her knee pads attached and was hanging out with her new star of TV, Bubba, the most handsome man in the world, in her words" Oh yeah; what a hottie! Although, I suppose there are some who would think so. I have often said that you can tell a lot about a person from what he/she finds beautiful.

shockingly enough, the real witch is more attractive than Helen of Hag....
To: Ann Archy
has the IQ level dropped around here recently. Ari gave Bush a list of reporters to call. they represented all the major news organizations. He gave Fox first question, an obvious thank you. But the questions.... jeeze.

"or they would know it's because she asks questions like 'why does Bush want to bomb Iraqi women & children?' And she does stuff like that at just about EVERY press conference." They wouldn't get why that should be a problem, mainly because given the chance those jackasses would ask the same kinds of idiotic and disrespectful questions. Doesn't take long at the DU to realize that that is exactly how they think.

Maybe it just goes to show how ambitious and cutthroat the Washington press corps is. 119 posted on 03/07/2003 1:51 PM PST by aristeides
Kind of reminiscent about who sat where on the reviewing stand during the parades in Red Square.
You know what would be pretty cool is if Fleischer sat Thomas a row farther back in every successive press conference until she finally had a chair in the hallway.

daddy bush will be close by! Can anyone tell us if they've ever heard Dubya use the term "New World Order" to describe his future dreams for humanity?
To: CarolAnn
Well I try my hardest to separate the human from the hag in Helen's case. And when you take away her career, all I still see is an unhappy, bitter person. That is what I feel sorry for. As for her conduct with the President, she can take a flying leap.
So, the princess side of me feels empathy for her.
The warrior side wants a house dropped on her. ;) It's a difficult thing to balance sometimes.

You're right that anyone full of bitterness is to be pitied. Bitterness is a cancer that eats the heart and soul of a person and it is sad when any human being is consumed by it.
That being said, I see a difference between feeling sorry for someone and having pity for them. I haven't quite found that soft spot in me that will allow even a teensy-weensy bit of sympathy for Helen. My hat's off to you for being able to do so!

Well, I think of my Grandma and how happy and positive she was up until Alzhemier's claimed her. And I look at Helen, or any elderly person, who live such a bitter life and I can't help but feel sorry her. It makes me wonder if she has any love or joy in her life. And again, if she doesn't, that is where the pity comes from.

Hwy, RWP, as I wrote above, I saw a pic of HT as a young woman, and you would never guess that she would wind up looking like she does today. That is the reason that I emphasized that there was something going on in the inside as well - as someone had stated that we were all going by physical appearances too much.
I've noticed that pleasant people have pleasant countenances - and I'm sure that people who are mean and nasty inside just have to have it show up in their faces somehow. She must think a lot of nasty thoughts!
One final thought. I think that the Bush WH delivered a message with the seating on Thursday night, and with the "scripted" order of calling on reporters that did not include her. Since she was absent from today's press conference with Ari. I guess she got the message. Frankly, I was wincing and squirming in my chair - in embarrassment for Ari having to deal with her in the last press conference that I saw her in on Wednesday. She was horried. Phrasing a question in such a manner about Bush bombing Iraqi innocents, and not having made his case about why Hussein had to be removed, I felt empathy for Ari having to deal with such an irrational, biased b!tch.
Me? I'm glad she's gone and I hope she has the sense to know that she shouldn't return. They've paid homage to her seniority for long enough, and since she's no longer a reporter, it is no longer warranted.
Ta ta Helen.

"Pay back, some times, can be a bitch"
should be changed to: Pay back, some times, can be a Helen Thomas.
To: The Wizard
she was just an old lady..... And still IS I hope! Seriously, you sound like a very compassionate person. Ari treats her with respect every day, but the President couldn't have her 'rantings' on national television.
