Anyone who would like to request prayers or fasting for their loved ones in the military or for themselves as they go into harm's way, or would like to offer up such prayers and fasts, please join this thread.

Isaiah 58

Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and shew my people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins.
Yet they seek me daily and delight to know my ways, as a nation that did righteousness, and forsook not the ordinance of their God: they ask of me the ordinances of justice; they take delight in approaching to God.
Wherefore have we fasted, say they, and thou seeth not? wherefore have we afflicted our soul, and thou takest no knowledge? Behold, in the day of your fast ye find pleasure, and exact all your labours.
Behold, ye fast for strife and debate, and to smite with the fist of wickedness: ye shall not fast as ye do this day, to make your voice to be heard on high.
Is it such a fast that I have chosen? a day for a man to afflict his soul? is it to bow down his head as a bulrush, and to spread sackcloth and ashes under him? wilt thou call this a fast, and acceptable day to the LORD?
Is not this the fast I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?
Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seeth the naked, that thou cover him; and that thy hide not thyself from thine own flesh?
Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the LORD shall be thy reward.
Then shalt thou call, and the LORD shall answer; thou shalt cry, and he shall say, Here I am. If thou take away from the midst of thee the yoke, the putting forth of the finger, and speaking vanity;
And if thou draw out thy soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul; then shall thou light rise in obscurity, and thy darkness be as the noon day:
And the LORD shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not.
And they that shall be of thee shall build the old waste places: thou shalt raise up the foundations of many generations; and thou shalt be called, The repairer of the breach, The restorer of paths to dwell in.
If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day,; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the LORD honorable; and shalt honor him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words:
Then shalt thou delight thyself in the LORD; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.

My son arrived back in the states today, so he should come off the list of those deployed. He was over there for several months and lost 4 of his friends, so I know it wasn't easy for him over there.

I hope I have a little time with him before they send him somewhere else. For now, he is safe.

Your son and husband will be in my prayers every day.

Dear Lord,
We come before you with heavy hearts this evening. We are concerned for our and Great Britain's troops that are about to undertake this mission to ensure freedom and safety of the world. Someone's mom and dad, children, and other family members are out there in foreign lands, awaiting orders from President Bush.

Help this man, George Bush, who bears the heavy burden of protecting America, always seek Your guidance as he issues history changing orders. Let his motivation always be pure and moral and just. Please give him strength and wisdom to guide his men and women in uniform through this war and bring each one of them back home safely, oh Lord.

I believe you hear our prayers, Lord, our God of Just and Mercy. Your will be done.

Heavenly Father, we beg Your mercy and protection for the British and Australian and Polish forces that share the perils of the next days and nights with our service members.

Heavenly Father, God of Abraham, Issac and Jacob, please bless and have mercy on all the sons and daughters of Abraham residing in the Middle East. Especially we remember the people of Israel, Kuwait, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, U.A.E., Qatar, and Turkey. We pray especially for your blessing and protection for the innocent people of Iraq. Although I held my breath for 3 days in early February waiting to hear from him, tonight I am shocked by how close I came to losing him.

The war has begun, and many mothers, dads, sisters and brothers will be holding their breath. I pray that all who wait for good news will be rewarded as I was.
