WASHINGTON, March 5 (UPI) -- The Pentagon's train platform remains shut down Wednesday after a suspicious black book bag was found at 1 p.m. near the escalators used by commuters, Pentagon and police sources said.
The bag is being swabbed for explosives or contamination, according to Pentagon spokeswoman Cheryl Irwin.
Pentagon security forces have cordoned off the entrance to the train station with yellow tape, both inside the Pentagon and outside in the parking lot.
Two specially trained crews have been dispatched to deal with the bag -- an explosive ordnance disposal unit from nearby Ft. McNair, Va., and a chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear hazard response team from the Pentagon.
Trains are still running through the station but they are not stopping at the platform. The Pentagon station services not just the headquarters of the Defense Department but also is a major bus stop with dozens of routes serving commuters in Virginia.
The blue and yellow lines that serve the Pentagon are running at least 10-minute delays.

I hope it's a false alarm. Anyone has an update? Apparently this happened at 1 pm EST, but the platform remains shut down. This is the first I heard about it, when I read this article.

Watch it turn out to belong to someone in the Pentagon and accidently left behind hopefully without anything classified in it.

Remember all the lap tops that seemed to disappear in the clinton administration? Wonder where they ended up?

With the old school just down the road at Indianhead, Ft Belvoir, Andrews AFB, Ft Meade, Aberdeen, Quantico ,Pax River, ect you could probably muster up about 400 EOD troops in a pinch around DC area. EOD Air Ops School is at Ft McNair still I believe........
Of course if you get that many members of the Big Watch Little Pecker Club in one spot a coin check will surely produce a case of beer beer truck and then ya'll have to post bail after someone gets caught looking up a skirt with the andros Mk5 robots camera...........:o)
This can go either way based on my experience with such responses.......
Stay Safe !!
