Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton "fully supports" President Bush's Iraq policy, her office said last night - on the eve of her visit today to an upstate arsenal that makes military hardware like mortars and howitzers for U.S. troops. "Sen. Clinton fully supports the steps the president has taken to disarm Iraq of weapons of mass destruction," said Clinton spokesman Philippe Reines.

Oh dear! If Hilary is supporting the war does that mean I now have to be against it?

Hillary is positioning herself to claim some credit when the War of Iraqi Liberation & the War On Terrorism are successful.

Her primary motivation is her own political survival & return to power!

A Free Republic post a couple of days ago reported that Rodham went on Irish TV to criticize Bush's war effort, so that she could be on the record as opposed but keep that record in her hip pocket until she needed it.

She uses the same rhetoric as our Diane Feinstein here in CA. At least we always know where commies like Barbara Boxer stand, but politicians like Feinstein and Rodham-Clinton are much more dangerous.

Hillary know which side her bread is buttered on.

100% correct. If public opinion demanded her husbands indictment, she would file the papers.

She also took a lot of money from Moslem groups when she was running for the Senate......wonder if any of them had ties to terrorism?

No, she, like other democrats, are beginning to manover themselves into the right position so their political fallout, after a successful Iraq invasion, will be minimal.

Did you not hear Sen. Biden say, '"we" scored a big coup on Al-Quida', with the capture of Seik Mohammad? When they (democrats) think they can score points by being negative toward the Bush administration they will say, "they", excluding themselves. But when it looks like Bush might be right and turns a big trick like Seik Mohammad, then they say, "we", wishing to appear that they've been there all along.

"Sen. Clinton fully supports the steps the president has taken to disarm Iraq of weapons of mass destruction," said Clinton spokesman Philippe Reines.

I don't think that people are parsing that statement closely enough. The way that I read the statement, it is not at all in support of President Bush's preparations to go to war against Saddam, even though that is how the article writer mistakenly interpreted it. Instead, that statement is full of weasel words, permitting Hillary to move in any and all directions later on - for example, if anything goes wrong with the war, she can say "I supported him when he was working through the UN inspection process to disarm Iraq, but it was a mistake for him to unilaterally declare war against Iraq without getting the approval of the UN". So, read the statement again - it falls considerably short of giving true support for the Bush policies, and instead is just another Clinton trick.
