Michael Waltrip drives through grass to praise Bush (LV 400)
Posted on 03/02/2003 3:59:20 PM PST by Hillary's Lovely Legs
Michael Waltrip came in third today in the Las Vegas 400.
After the race ended, Michael Waltrip left the track and drove through the infield and made a spectacle of himself.
When confronted by reporters, Waltrip said that he had something important to say for the past week, and the reason why he drove on the grass was to call attention to himself.
Waltrip stated that he was 100% behind President Bush and thanked God for his leadership. He also said that we Americans need to be behind him and the military during the war with Iraq. He praised God, America and President Bush.

You know so dont sugarcoat it. Come out and say what you think. I've twice said what I think - NASCAR drivers and rappers both tend to thank God when they win.
I don't know why you're trying to find some deep meaning in the statement. It's just an observation.

Easier to draw a map when airborne. and from your tag line more satisfying to look down on people.
I destroy dozens of your kind every semester.
I've taken out the occasional mathole perffesser, myself.
Didja ever notice the students have you greatly outnumbered?
Something you *might* want to keep in mind...

Good to see DEI finish strong today! It was also nice to hear something positive said about our President.

and from your tag line more satisfying to look down on people.Typical engineer . . . no sense of humor. Always seeing the glass as too big.
Perhaps you've noticed but we tend to send many potential colleagues of yours to other professions. So, you don't have to work alongside so many dimwits.
Hence, as engineers, they're destroyed.

"NASCAR races are the only sporting events on TV that I have seen that begin with presentation of the colors, a prayer, The National Anthem, a Military flyover and the fans aren't ashamed to show their patriotism. And yes, most drivers always remember to thank God."
Do you never watch the Indy 500?

No, I must admit I do not. However, I did preface my post with "the only sporting event I have seen on TV" Meant no harm.

Just curious, but noticed that S. Crow will be playing at the Dale Earnhart tribute concert before an upcoming race. Sheryl had a fairly good start with Nascar fans, but that was before true sentiments were shown. Would love to see a clip of audience reaction as she takes the stage.

You know, you are right- but it IS so heart warming to hear someone in the news who is on our side.
While I wish Rosie and Babs would SHUT UP, it is somehow refreshing to hear support from a celebrity whenever we do hear it.

Uhhhhhhhhh..Philip, Michael is DW's little brother...you sure you watch NASCAR? They are both strong christians...you're right about that. LOL. As I explained in a previous post, I goofed. Yes, I watch every week, and have been watching since the 1960's. I love NASCAR, IHRA, and Indy.

Thanks for being a Patriot Michael.

When he was asked why he drove through the grass he said the "I'm an old redneck and that grass looked mighty inviting"
Everytime they interview Micheal, I like him more and more.

Perhaps you've noticed but we tend to send many potential colleagues of yours to other professions.
That surely wasn't what it sounded like you meant.
So, you don't have to work alongside so many dimwits.
But did you have to get so many of them into MANAGMENT?!?!

We can only do so much.

Silence, before I crack the whip again! I actually have no respect for the Liberal Arts (well, not what they have become, anyway). I am a mathematician. All that is not mathematics are petty details.
