[history]
MELBOURNE -- Red, white and blue filled the corridors of the Florida Marketplace on Babcock Street Saturday as more than 2,000 people filed in to show their support for the American military.
Rain drove the Rally for America, sponsored by Clear Channel Radio Brevard, inside, but it didn't dampen spirits. The crowd joined in singing patriotic songs and listened to a number of speakers.

#16...We did the same thing.
We stayed inside (deep in the crowd inside the Mall) for the Anthem and some tributes...
..but hubby & I were just getting over a bad virus, and the heat/humidity were getting to us...
...so we fled to the car & listened to the rest on the radio.

Doesn't it just make you mad! 2,000 people in small town America and we don't deserve National Media attention...
Maybe we could have declared an Amber alert for one missing FREEPER! LOL

The bagpipes got me those wonderful "goosebumps"!
It was so good to see all the kids....I made sure every kid I could get to got one of those "Support Our Military" stickers. Heck, even the adults liked them!

Wait a minute...wire service?
They don't need any steekin newsprint!

Were we the only ones "giving" our things away?
Next time I am going to try to get more people to do that...even if just red and white candy!!

NonValueAdded was there with mini-NVA.
I found one of 3D-JOY's great signs left behind inside and brought it out to the street. There was one woman obviosuly doing a braodcast report into her cell phone about the 100 or so of us out on the street. I heard her read the words of the sign "FOR 10 YEARS WE GAVE PEACE A CHANCE. WE GOT 9-1-1. FreeRepublic.com" and the tips of the 1's in 911 were like flaming candles. It was an honor to carry that sign. Thank you, 3D.
I'm sorry I didn't get over to the tables but it just started to pour when I arrived. It was TOO CROWDED (YES!!!) inside to find anyone. It sounds like a great setup and a lot of work and care.
I look forward to the Palm Bay 4th of July celebration. I assume it will be at the BCC campus or maybe at BaySide. Let's start planning now.

I proudly slowly drove my unmarked white cargo van past the patriotic gauntlet - honking madly and waving a small American flag in the aire from my drivers side window!
