Salon is going out of business and blames Coulter, Drudge and Limbaugh says Limbaugh.

Salon is going out of business and not because of Coulter, Drudge and Limbaugh but because people on the net were not buying all the lies they told. The liberal lies that is by people without a clue. They were selling a lemon....

No, they are going out of business because they had a poor product and an even worse business model.

That Sami Al- vanity piece is probably what did them in. After he was arrested, it really took their credibility to the breaking point.

Salon failed because liberals can get all their propoganda from the network news, CNN, PMSNBC, and most US papers.

I think Rush misspoke. Either that or he has info we're not privy to. Salon is not (yet) dead. It may only be a matter of days, but they're still up and running TO-day. Just go look at their front page.

George Stephanopoulos had his show at a 16 year low for ratings as well.
They just can't reveal what they think without causing a negative response to themselves.
That is the marketplace at work and not anyone else.

Salon isn't going out of business because it is liberal, or because it is hated by conservatives.

It is going out of business because its officers raised and squandered nearly $100 million of private equity and IPO proceeds, and arrogantly failed to negotiate a strategic alliance (i.e., sale to a big media company) in 2000 when the getting was good.

There is not a single arts/culture/politics magazine which operates as an idependent business. The arts/culture magazines are all part of bigger media companies. The more politically-orietned magazines are all de facto charity cases (including the Nation and Harpers on the left, the New Republic and the Atlantic Monthly on the center, and the National Review and the Weekly Standard on the right).

Can Al Franken save talk-radio?

Now that Donahue is gone, who swill save talk-television?

Now with the demise of Salon, who will save the internet.

Oh the humanity!

For yea, there shall be great gnashing of teeth and rending of clothes and wearing of sackcloth and pulling of hair and wearing of peace pins at Oscars for in those days shall it ever be known that leftist drivel shall perish in the light of truth and common sense.

The problems with liberals is that they can never place the blame for their failings on their own shoulders. They're not man...or woman enough to admit their own shortcomings or inadequacies. Like most liberals, they have to fault someone else for their failures.

You know it's ironic that when a liberal media endevor fails(or any liberal endevor for that matter) it's someone else's fault....Rush Limbaugh is too powerful...my husband is beset by a "vast right wing comspiracy"...blah blah blah.

Why can't they just admit that true market forces are at work and accept the fact that their product...or ideas have no marketable values???? I guess if they had been taught true market economic concepts instead of some sort of pscho babble they would at least know the reasons.

"Now that Donahue is gone, who swill save talk-television?"

I e-mailed MSNBC and told them that they should give Donahue's time slot to Dennis Miller.

Salon is slooooooowly going out of business. They have almost no advertising which, in the past, accounted for 40% of their revenue. However, they do have almost 50,000 customers, (or so they say) paying something. This can keep'em afloat for awhile.

To really annoy Salon, donate to FreeRepublic.

Salon is going out of business and blames Coulter, Drudge and Limbaugh says Rush

Whine whine whine. Always someone else's fault. How exactly are Coulter (author/columnist) and Rush (radio host) to blame for a website/magazine's demise?
