Judge Sentences Anthony Smith To 10 Months In Jail

A local man who pleaded no contest to charges he arranged his wife's rape Tuesday learned his fate in court.
A judge sentenced Anthony Charles Smith (pictured, left) to 10 months in jail, Local 4 learned. Authorities said the man arranged the attack of his wife last June to pay off his $5,000 gambling debt.
Police said that the incident happened while the husband laid awake next to her in the Continental Trailer Park, located near Eight Mile and Dequindre roads in Warren. The attacker told Smith to put his face down in a pillow, then began to assault his wife, according to police.
After committing three sexual acts on the woman, the attacker told the husband that he owed $5,000, then left without incident, according to Detective David Andrews.
Smith told police that he lost money playing pool at the Bottoms Up East lounge. His debt reportedly grew to $5,000, according to police.
The woman was reportedly unaware of the gambling debt.
The couple is now divorced, according to Local 4 reports.

10 months for this prick? This guy should get 10 years in Jackson State Prison at the very least, preferably 30.

Yes. Eight mile is the city limit of Detroit with various suburbs and other cities on the other side. It continues well past the city limits to the westside also, which is where this took place. In the movie Eminem lives in a trailer park on 8 mile road.

I've noticed that too. Easy targets I guess. I lived in one when I was in elementary school. I was always embarrassed. Now I realize it was the best my single mom could do.

He'll be lucky to get out of dating hell after this bit of news. If there's justice in the world he'll be truly lonely til the day he dies.

for real? that is an absurd ruling.
That wasn't reasonable to me, it was unreasonable presumption since it is a very unusual arrangement between husband and wife or anybody to just walk into a room and pretend rape them. If the men asked her if she was sure she wanted to do that, that would be reasonable.

any man husband boyfriend or rapists that tried this stunt with me would get the lorena bobbit visit. I would hire some guy to do it and if I was caught be charged with malicious wounding and the jury would probably let me off anyways.

I'm sure the Admin will suitably edit it first.... but you're right off-hand there are a dozen things that come to mind about what this sicko deserves. Its amazing he even got married in the first place.

Police said that the incident happened while the husband laid awake next to her No pun intended I'm sure. Just pathetic grammar for this story to be sure.

I think we might do better to focus on devising an appropriate punishment for the judge. That whackjob is still sitting on the bench, meting out his idea of appropriate sentences to a parade of violent criminals.

the loan shark says "you do have an asset ... " It turns out to be their wife or daughter, or step-daughterYears ago in a state I won't name I ran into a legal situation. I went to a high priced lawyer for a (free) consultation. The lawyer had an memorable office (several secretaries that looked like high priced call girls, expensive leather furniture, brass spittoon, chewing tobacco) and listened to my story. In the course of the narration he learned I had 2 teenage daughters. He said he could take my case if I gave him one of my daughters. I left quickly and never returned. This is all true.

It's a shame that you didn't file a complaint against the dirtball with your state's bar. Even if they didn't believe you, having an outstanding complaint against him would have prevented him from repeating this type of activity for fear of revealing a pattern. How long ago was it? It might not be too late.
To: Ronaldus Magnus
It was around 1986 or 87.... The evil lawyer also showed me (why me?) a huge album filled with news stories about him and boasted of his mob connections and that the big drug lords kept him on payroll to keep them out of jail. After all that I didn't even think of anything except how to move out of state. And both my daughters were very beautiful. I was really really shocked. I was kind of protected and naive. Not so much any more.
