Judge delays dispersal in McDonald's fries case

CHICAGO (AP) -- A Cook County judge is delaying the division of a $10 million settlement from McDonald's over beef-laced french fries until the tax-exempt status of some of the vegetarian recipients is clarified.

Judge Richard Siebel on Tuesday asked attorneys for plaintiffs in the class-action lawsuit to determine the tax-exempt status of some groups and find out whether others affiliated with tax-exempt groups intend to seek the status for themselves. He set a new hearing date to award grants March 25.

Groups whose status is in limbo include the Islamic Food and Nutrition Council of America and the Hindu Student Council.

Did a quick google on the Islam Food and Nutrition Council and discovered that their purpose is to educate us infidels about " halal".

Below is what their site considers non "halal" food to be:

All foods are considered Halal except the following,which are haram:

Swine/pork and its by-products

Animals improperly slaughtered or dead before slaughtering

Animals killed in the name of anyone other than ALLAH (God)

Alcohol and intoxicants

Carnivorous animals, birds of prey and land animals without external ears

Blood and blood by-products

Foods contaminated with any of the above products

I did not captialize" halal" because that would infere deference to their cult like stupidity.

When one of these low- lifes runs a Quickie Mart I guess he gets a pass on the food he can profit from. Making money is more important than beliefs with these haters of freedom.
