Alan Grover, WABI-TV: "What the kids are facing is hearing that their mother or father is a bad person for taking part in the confrontation with Iraq; comments that are coming from teachers. That's according to officers with the Guard's Family Assistance Program who've been traveling throughout the state this week. The officers report that such incidents are relatively few in number but that they've occurred in practically every region of the state."

Time for a good freepin of the teachers, principal and school board. How about it? If true, this should get national attention.

So, if a teacher were to taunt a child of gay parents, he would be fired. But humiliating a child because his parents are defending our country is allowable?

If true, it looks like a change in profession may be called for.

Some Public school teachers are just like the the hollywood left, anti-American and deserve not to be teachers.

Freep these teachers and schools since it looks to be true from this.......

Maj. Andrew Gibson: "Some kids have even reported that . . . teachers have said things to them, specifically, about the . . . unethical nature of their parent going off to fight."

Speaking for myself, I would buy an axe handle and make sure that that "teacher" could not so much as stand up ever again. Enough is enough, people. Can't you see that these leftists will never, ever be satisfied until you are dead and your children are theirs to re-educate.

Perhaps Laura could ask a very sweet question about this situation.

If this was my child or nephew/niece, I would already be in jail for popping some teacher in the chops.

I was the son of a National Guardsman during the gulf war of 91 and didn't have any teachers taunt me. I did however have to deal with kids, IN MIDDLE SCHOOL! who thought what was happening was wrong. These teachers need to be severely disciplined if not fired. Having a parent or loved one deployed in a war zone is a traumatizing experience, and the effects last long after the war is over and the soldiers have all returned home. What these teachers have done is nothing short of mental torture and should be considered a form of child abuse.

Question is how wide spread is this and what other PUBLIC SCHOOLS across the country has teachers doing this, as I recall William Rivers Pitt is a teacher in Boston and you know how far left wing he and Scott Ritter are?

Yep. I predict this story will get legs here before too long. Some of those so-called "educators" are none too bright. The internet and talk-radio and so on has changed the playing field - they can't get away with this kinda thing anymore, and it's none too soon.

Sounds to me like a change from Colgate to Polident is in order.

If I had $10,000 to burn, I'd mass mail to every school family in Bangor reminding them of the fact that our military folk will be liberating the Iraqi people from decades of brutality and torture at the hands of Saddam.

Then I'd point out that the teachers' union hasn't even bothered to send Saddam a compalint about his torture of children.
