This is what Ebert said in his latest review (on Gods and Generals):
"Here is a Civil War movie that Trent Lott might enjoy .... it waits 70 minutes before introducing the first of its two speaking roles for African Americans"

Why do these people post and run on some things - guess they know in their hearts they are hate mongers who are racist, tyrant loving, freedom hating freaks. God forbid they actually try to debate something. Sheesh.

My ideology: I am a basic libertarian ... I posted this not as an endorsement but as a discussion point ... I was shocked he used these words. I assumed everyone here would also be shocked.

Does the gentleman recall any black actors in "Band of Brothers"? Simple fact is that this war, like the war in Western Europe in 1944-45, was a war between white men. As the "African-Americans" keep insisting, slavery was a secondary issue in the war in the East. It was a struggle by each side to capture the other's "queen." for the (Richmond or Washington. DC.)

Zot is when an article is pulled off the forum by the admin moderator. He/she usually does it with a big flash of lightening and a ZOT.

You missed the War of the Lott Affair here my friend....plenty of FReepers would have cheered him on then.
Not too many will admit that now.

"Here is a Civil War movie that Trent Lott might enjoy .... it waits 70 minutes before introducing the first of its two speaking roles for African Americans"So now we are going to rate a movie by what time & how many African Americans are in it?
Maybe he should watch Roots.
