D.C. Chapter Freeps Phony "Anti-War" Weapons Inspectors 2/22/03

As noted on this thread: International Weapons Inspections Team Heads to D.C. area to look for Weapons of Mass Destruction, "anti-war" leftists from the group Rooting Out Evil came to D.C. today for a media stunt aimed at undermining America's resolve and morale in fighting the war on terrorism.

While the attempted "weapons inspection" will take place tomorrow in Aberdeen, Md., tonight they held a community meeting at a downtown "church." The D.C. Chapter gave them a patriotic welcome to our nation's capital.

Their event was sparsely attended, with no local media presence apparent. We didn't do a head count, but at best we saw about sixty people enter the front door.

Susie "Medea" Benjamin, head of Global Exchange showed up to lend her support to undermining America along with some of her Code Pink-O crew.

Medea didn't stick around to answer our questions. She beat feet into the "church" when we confronted her on her trip to Baghdad last month where she was photographed "giving" blood in a media stunt. We asked her if Saddam drank her blood that she "gave."

Several of the so-called anti-war attendees made the mistake of engaging us about the situation with Iraq. Most were reduced to calling President Bush a terrorist as the utter immorality of their position was exposed.

One of the "inspectors" took time to talk with us. He was wearing a blue U.N.-style ball cap. He wants the U.S. to disarm along with everyone else because it would "make the world safer." We pointed out the impossibility of that by using D.C.'s strict gun control laws as an example. We told him if wanted to serve humanity he should go to North Korea and urge Kim Jong Il to feed his people instead of building nuclear weapons.

And so it went with the others there: mumbo jumbo rhetoric about the evil George Bush and America terrorizing the world. There were a few who were capable of rational discourse--only a few.

We got a good response from passersby, not bad for liberal D.C.

Some of the signs we had said: "We Gave Peace a Chance, We Got 9-11; I Trust America, You Trust Saddam; Rooting Out Evil? More Like Rooting For Evil; America-Haters, Inspect Your Conscience First; Peace Is Good, Freedom Is Better; Want To Root Out Evil? Uproot Saddam; and, If Osama Was a Piece of Ass, Clinton Would Have Nailed Him.
