Too bad I don't subscribe to premium channels, I would love to see how they prove it.

Penn and Teller and the Amazing Randy have always gone the extra mile to debunk nonsense. Kudos to them for doing the work that the mainstream media, including FOX, refuses to do.

Wish I had Showtime; Lot of people on FR probably need to see this episode in a few weeks:
The End of the World
"A look at "The Sky is Falling" people from Nostradamus and his misinterpreted quatrains, to the "Left Behind" publishing phenomenon, to various crackpot rapture groups. Also featured is a survivalist who has converted 40 school buses into an elaborate underground compound that he and his friends will escape to when the bombs start dropping"

Penn and Teller are Libertarians, well at least Penn is for sure. That means they oppose big government in all forms, including the sort of big government that cultural conservatives love so dearly. As a result, Penn and Teller will be hated here by many of the fundamentalist big government cultural conservatives who want government to enforce certain lifestyles.

Just out of curiosity, what "certain lifestyles" are these cultural conservatives trying to get enforced?

Larry Elder, Dr. Whelan, and Robert Levy were fantastic. They left Mr. Cherner with absolutley no basis for his arguments. The U.S.federal court descision was really the smoking gun.

http://www.politicalusa.com/columnists/cynic/cynic_045.htm makes reference to the buried WHO study declaring second-hand smoke was not a health hazard.
"....Even more recently, the World Health Organization (WHO) wing of the UN has requested that an all out war be declared on smoking and its second hand effects. This is odd for several reasons.
First of all, the WHO reluctantly released a study regarding second hand smoke and its effect on non smokers. The largest study of its kind (25 countries, 11 years), it found that second hand smoke did not show an increase in incidence in lung cancer rates of nonsmokers that were regularly exposed to it. In some cases (cases in which nonsmokers were exposed at home AND at work) there was a limited protective effect shown. I say they released it reluctantly, because they tried to suppress the information and hide the results within thousands of pages of information. If not for an enterprising journalist at the UK Journal, the world may have never known about the results of this study."

Penn & Teller ridicule Christ's crucifixion
The skit, performed last week in Las Vegas, included Teller, dressed as Christ on a full-size cross, entering the room on a cart. According to the column, a midget dressed as an angel "performed a simulated sex act on the near-naked Teller". Penn, in a Roman gladiator costume, unveiled the scene by pulling away a "Shroud of Turin" that covered the cross.
Enough said. FReegards.

So, the UN will eagerly declare war on unarmed cigarettes, but thinks Saddam will give up without a fight?

Teller's politics and religion is based on the "Cups & Balls" trick. He lives for his art while Penn Jillette was born to agitate. They have suggested that anyone wishing to experience real magic only need to attend a spsce shuttle launch.
The Crucifiction trick was in bad taste but tame compared to paintings of Madonnas literally made out of crap or crosses suspended in urine found in so-called art galleries.
