Great! They're only a couple years away from being invaded by China and by then they'll be completely helpless.

You can sit on your butts while they disarm you a little at a time or you can do something about it.

I kind of wonder how an Aussie would sound speaking Cantonese.

If you're going to get 10 years for mere possession of a handgun in Australian, you might as well go for broke and do stuff that could bring an equivelent or greater sentence.

It would only take a few dozen patriotic Australians to shake things up over there.

Also, anyone who harms a home invader in any way will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

From where did all the sheep come? I have known Aussies that were men. They must have imported to many Liberals back in the 60's and 70's.

You guys are all such pessimists. Remember WJC spending taxpayer money to buy them in DC? There is no crime there now. Safest place on earth. Buybacks work!

Thank God our founding fathers created a Bill of Rights in our Constitution, including the 2nd amendment right to be armed, or we would be in the same place.

How nice of the Aussie govt. To send their young ones off to battle for "The Empire" Queen
and Country....

And when they come home all shot up and disabled..And try to fend off armed thugs from their homes and loved one's ...

The govt. steps in to throw them in jail for keeping a handgun..the tool designed to protect ones home and family..

Wonder if they will pursue warrantless searches with as much vigor in known criminals homes looking for evidence of rape armed robbery or murder...

Naw much easier for the dictator of Austrailia to make what was once legal normal and good illegal evil and perverse and arrest those caught in the switch who werent sheepish enough to cave in...

When one's rights are derived from Kings or the state rather than God such things happen..

Coming soon to Australia...

Crime hits 1 in 3 Britons

ONE in three British adults has been hit by crime in the past 12 months, a shock survey revealed yesterday.

But half of victims did not bother telling police - because they thought it would be a waste of time.

Of those who did report crimes, a fifth claimed cops failed even to respond. And the number of criminals who were caught and punished was a paltry 13 per cent.

The study of 17,000 adults nationwide shows crime is rising by nearly ten per cent more than government figures admit and means 17 million people suffered a crime last year.

The most common offences were vandalism, thefts from cars, house burglaries and fraud.

Crime expert Mike Hough, of South Bank University, said: "I used to say fear of crime was a problem in its own right. Now I realise people are right to worry."

Alastair McKee, 25, was among the one in five people who were targeted at least TWICE.

He said of burglars who took more than £1,000 of goods from his Bath home: "I hope they are sent to prison and they throw away the key."

On the bright side, the heavy-handed treatment of gun owners in the UK and Australia seems to have woken up American gun owners that gun control advocates are not just harmless nuts. You'll notice that the Democrats are no longer able to run on a gun control platform except in liberal bastions. And I really wish that the Republican party would take, say, Frank Lautenberg's pro gun-control ads and run them in more conservative states to show what liberal Democrats really think.

I own a lot of firearms including handguns, but for home defense nothing beats a shotgun with 3 inches of white tape around the end of the barrel. It is easy to aim in the dark and you don't have to worry about hitting the folks next door. But this story sux. Hope they can turn it around.
